I have a vintage jacket from the 50s with some back definition and an Anna Sui velvet jacket from the 90s that, when buttoned, has a skirted effect in back. I have had both of these pieces, loved and worn them for ages and don't plan on getting rid of them. But other than that, no. This is a dressy look and I don't have the lifestyle any more.

I saw a few peplum jackets from Cynthia Rowley made for TJ Maxx yesterday and they looked perfectly awful on the hanger but maybe they would look nice on.

I suppose it depends on just how floofy it is, but I'm not automatically against the idea.

I rocked the peplums the last time they were popular, and will probably wear them again. I have a peplum jacket and matching pencil skirt that I really love. The problem is that certain peplums do not look good on me. They have to be properly fitted in the waist. Some garment manufacturers have been tacking a little ruffle onto the bottom of a shapeless top and calling it a peplum. That's not it! A true peplum is fitted and shapely. I can't wear the faux peplums. They just sag on me and look horrible.

Maybe... I would need to find the right piece. Ideally a short or elbow sleeve jacket in a bright springy color.

for sure!!!! Looking for a cute peplum pencil skirt

I got a lot of "natural peplum" so I guess it would be a matter of finding the right "artificial" one.

Chuckling @ Zap.

I have an '80's weakness for peplums!

I found a cute peplum jacket while thrifting about a month ago...I tried it on and the style looked pretty good on me. Can't go wrong for $10 to be on trend

Already have one peplum jacket. Would go for more pieces, too, if I can find.

I'm with Zapotee, I have plenty of natural peplum... That said, I think they can work on me as long as the volume isn't too much, and the seams hit at the right point - they rarely do since I have a long torso.

I had a great jacket/top in the 90's which got unaccountably lost. It was very fitted down to the waist and then flared out. The peplum was flared, not gathered (to MandipaM's point).

Although I am bottom heavy, the bulk is in my bottom and thighs and my hips look slim, so I like the opportunity to add sometime to the high hip - seems to round out the curve. I discovered this a while ago with a shirt dress that had pockets that stood out at the hip.

So I may well partake of this trend. However I can only get one jacket for (what will be our autumn/winter) and it will have to fit in my MOTG lifestyle, so we will just have to see if any peplum jackets make the cut.

I love the look of a peplum but am a little concerned about supersizing my butt.

I love the peplum look not entirely sure what I'd wear it with, bootcuts? but if one happens to follow me home I will definately give it a go x
