Have an app in two weeks, IF our stay-at-home order is not extended.....

I have four months of hair growth and might as well take advantage of it!

Soooooo, want to help me find a new 'do?

Few things about my hair upfront :

Like to wear it wavy AND straight
Want to keep it short, but LONGER short, IYKWIM
I like to tuck hair back behind my ears
I like soft edge, but not hard edge
I will stay blonde! That's all I have ever been.....until I go grey
I am out in the elements a lot - urban walking lifestyle - so I can't have a style that's too fussy. The wind and rain are a mare

# 1 looks really close to what you have, if they just tidied up the back, and it's lovely! I assume if you straightened it that style it would look similar to one of the other photos.

I think you'd look superb in either!

A couple of thoughts -- you had to modify your long fringe in the fall because it interfered with specs a bit and got annoying. So would these fringes do the same?

Also, with a mask in the picture, how will that affect things? You'll want something that won't spoil from the ties/ elastics/ whatevers.

I could see you with the Julianne Hough look (3 and 5) - lovely!! I think you could carry any of them off but they are all short at the nape which is the area that often requires frequent cutting.

I have a pinterest board of hairstyles and I always loved Jed on The Night Manager's hair which you could wear well.

I like 5, out of these! If you were considering potentially a little longer, I think something like Keira's short bob would also look amazing on you!

My first thought is I like the cut in photos 3 and 5 - which I assume would a lot like photo 7 if left curly or after your were caught in the rain and is adorable.

I wonder what the salon experience is going to be like for the next 18 months or so. I spoke with a salon owner the other day and she is busy getting her salon ready for a June 1st opening. She will only be able to operate at 50% capacity- everyone will of course be wearing masks, there will be barriers etc. Scheduling is going to be tough. The stylist will be very close to many people regularly- even with a mask there will be risk.

If it were me - I would be favoring a cut that let me space out my appointments more.

#1, 2 and 7 look like your current style. I see you in neat/straight hair, and wavy/curly hair, but I don’t see you in disheveled hair (even ‘artfully’ disheveled) like #8. Maybe I’m wrong?

These all look quite like your current cut, no? Except the first few are what it would look like wavy and the others straight?

Julianne Hough’s is a little longer, which I think you would look lovely with, or the bob Helena suggested.

I’m with you On keeping it short and polished so it looks neat even with the weather - I think that’s the part I’m struggling with most now that mine has grown out

7 looks most like you, to my eye, but they are all lovely! I have a tough time picking haircuts...

I've been going down this same rabbit hole. I decided to grow out my color and had a very short pixie while doing so, and then as you know I permed it and have really embraced the crazy curls, even as they grow out. But now IDK what to do...I miss my pretty brown hair. But then...the upkeep! Should I perm it again with a transfer perm to make it a big looser curls? Should I cut the curl out and go pixie again (prob not). What should my ultimate length be...long bob, or short bob, or shag?

My hair dreams are a long-ish shag a la Marion Cotillard; loose curls at the ends...but of course must be completely wash and wear. I can hear my hair stylish chortling at me already! LOL

I think #1 and #7 would look lovely on you with the waves and I think the cuts would look good straight, too. The asymmetrical look is really nice and adds some fun without competing with your face and your fabulous specs.

Suz, you are soooo right! The long fringe is a problem in the rain and wind with the specs, so I shortened it. Hmmmmm. Need to figure that out! As for the mask, so far so good. Short at the back is better for the ties and ear elastic.

Helena, sooo pretty on Kiera! On me, I need to show some ear, and have a less wispy look to work with the weather. I can absolutely tuck behind one ear though

Jenava, you can absolutely wear your hair like that. I vote perm again, short bob, big curls.

Roxanna, yes. All MUCH neater variations of what I have now. It's been fun to have some hair to play with.

Cheryl, yes, I've been speaking to my stylist regularly. It's a learning curve for all of them. I bet they are stressed about it all.

I vote for #1. I especially love the back. But you would look great in any of them.

Will you be getting your hair cut as often as in the good old days? If not, you want a cut that will grow out well. I worry and have decided to space out my cuts (assuming I can ever get back to the salon)

The photos Carla posted are all in my collection too, as I'm less interested in the long-bang, short back , side swept style now. I agree with Roxanna that the ones in your inspiration collection look pretty much like your hair is now - and the curly versions are so, so pretty. That said, I'd love to see you in something like 1, 2, or 4 from Carlas' pics. The short bang, looser vibe is very current . But I know - hair is SO personal , and to each her own!

I like #1 for you.! The cut is short enough in all the right places and long enough to be versatile curled and uncurled!
I would love to see you this blonde also, the upkeep might be a bit much, although it would be gorgeous on you!

I like 8 but wonder if it would just look messy IRL. 3-5 are similar and would be a little change up with that length in back. Have to admit that I feel a short back is probably easiest to keep looking neat and styled...

So, I do not know how people maintain that asymmetrical long hair parted way to one side and sweeping across the brow- any activity and poof, it’s all awry for me.
So I would wonder more about other types of layers or waves that frame the face. Sort of like Runcarla’s pic.

BTW our hair salons and barbers are open but I am not ready to put my higher- risk self there yet, so may have to come up with new style I can cut myself for awhile!

Squee! So fun! I like #1 a lot. There are subtle layers that would grow in well if need be. I think? Love #7 and may be stealing it . I can't even imagine you in bangs, but if you do go that way make sure they are self trimable. (I love the inspiration pictures.) Totally understand you about showing your ear. I think the reason my old haircut worked was the ear exposure and as soon as it started getting covered I knew it was time for a cut. For me it lifts my face and gives it structure somehow. Will be following!

More love for 1 and 7. They seem very similar to what you are sporting now. I'm guessing showing some ear is akin to structure--to avoid the "mop" look maybe? I think the asymmetric style will look fab if it is tight in the back--and Greg can cut hair now anyway, right? It would be easy to maintain should we ever have to SIP again!

Angie, I love the cut in that silver pixie example.

Carla, where did you get pic 2? It looks so much like my ex-DH's niece, who has been doing a lot of hair modeling over the last couple of years, and the cut looks like one she's had recently.
