Eighth day of spring in the Great Southland and a debut outing today for each of these pieces:
citron chiffon top -Target
white jeans - Edun
gold loafers - DIY
I went a bit overboard with bling but what the heck.
OK, so the top and the pants pass muster (well, I think they do, do they?) but what about these loafers? Are they going to be OK or am I sadly delusional?
TIA for your opinion.

Love the top and pants. Not so sure about the loafers with this outfit. They are fab shoes but the vamp appears a bit high with those pants to my eye (but I do have a bit of a poison eye for high vamps so you can just ignore me).

Is your hair cut shorter than usual? It looks fantastic.

Thumbs way up for loafers!! By DIY do you mean you painted them yourself? They are basically a neutral and I love them. Have I said I love them? I still think it bookends your hair because of the metallic shine, but you should get (or create) some silver ones too. And that blouse is very pretty.

@ Nicole The loafers are a couple of years old and were olive green. I wanted to try gold shoes and a DIY paintjob was the cheapest option because for some strange reason there was bottle of gold colour change in my craft cupboard.
I have silver sandals on my wish list.

Thanks again everyone. I appreciate your thoughts and rely on them because style counsel is pretty thin on the ground where I live.
Denise, interesting question; we mark the turning of the season by the start of the month, not by the solstice or equinox. But other markers are more important in different parts of the country, for example here we talk about the season " breaking", which is when the rain starts -if we're lucky. Traditionally it"breaks" around ANZAC Day (April 25th), making that doubly important in the yearly calendar.
MaryK, in my book your plonk is up there with Angie's killer.

Debra, in case you are thinking of a DIY I have a couple of tips. Buy the proper stripper and clean and strip the original surface scrupulously. I don't think this does the leather any favours but I was not going to keep wearing the shoes in their original colour so I was willing to make that sacrifice.The other tip is to use shoe trees to keep the shape when you are both stripping and painting.
I used to recolour shoes regularly when I was a penniless student and it was fun to revisit the experience.

Oh! How much do I love that you DIYed those shoes? SO MUCH. Is it a leather paint? I have a pair of shoes I've been wanting to change the finish on, but haven't known how to go about it.
