Your hair looks beautiful!

Your hair looks great! If I had your kind of grey I would definitely let it grow in. Alas, my brown hair seems to have patches of brown--at the crown and temples and other random areas. So far I can get away with highlighting it every 10 weeks at which time my hair stylist covers the grey. My shoulder length hair now is kind of brown/blond which is the way it was when I was younger. For now that seems to work. I see so many women with great grey hair--hope I can be one of them at some point.

Wow, that looks really nice! I am off and on sooooo tempted to let mine grow out!

Your hair is absolutely stunning! Just cut off the last little bit of an 18 month grow-out myself. Get so many compliments now.

Looking great, and I love your blouse too! I once heard them called 'wisdom highlights' and never forgot that. Couldn't pay anyone to put such gorgeous highlights in our hair now. Enjoy your freedom, girl.

Circling back while dinner's in the oven and trying to think fast!

SaraL, Thirkellgirl, Texstyle, Bonnie, Jill58, RobinF, Anne, Poppy --

Thanks much for the encouragement! I see a lot of names there that should have been added to my "Great YLF Greys/Silvers/Whites" list upthread -- so please know my morning brain wasn't trying to leave you all out!

Anne -- you have my admiration. I know I'll probably need at LEAST 13 months to chop the last dye off, but man....I lost patience about week 3. I know it's worth it worth it and hope you're celebrating your once-again-virgin hair and enjoying the compliments!

Jill -- every 10 weeks isn't so bad, so I can see why coloring is working for you (envious!) But you know, I have to push back a little. I think EVERY woman who colors and is kind of over it thinks she has the "wrong" kind of grey. I know I did!

Mine is actually *very* patchy, clustered on the right side and temples and "sideburns." Until it grows in for a few months it's harder to see the tonal effect (if any!). Now the Vix Household Tabby and I look like siblings.

RobinF -- you know where to find support if you want to jump, ha!

Poppy -- but isn't it funny that Young Folk Today are paying to put grey highlights in?

Another high-five from me, Vix! Your hair is so beautiful, and the graying pattern looks a lot like mine (though I think my brunette is somewhat lighter than yours). I do not anticipate dyeing my hair, unless it might be to add some unnatural temporary color (blue, green, purple. . .) sometime, for a fun change.
Re your comment to Poppy: When I first started going very noticeably gray, about a decade ago, a stylist at a salon complimented me on the color and asked who had done it. I wasn't sure what to answer--it was beyond me that someone would deliberately add gray to their hair!

Love the chunks in the front, Vix! The dramatic contrast suits you and looks arty and fun - a definite "do!"

I'm one in the "not ready" camp. I am wearing my shade lighter than my natural color to avoid the "bootblack dye" look. For me, most of the grey is at the crown, but doesn't form a real streak. On top of that, I'm in a new city and on the job hunt in a young field.. Still, I'm drawn to the dramatic and fresh looks my silver YLF friends are sporting! I know there are wonderful options!

You and the other lovely ladies on YLF, who share their journeys of growing out the gray, are giving me courage for taking the plunge. You look stunning!
