After life took a sharp left turn last month and I realized I’d be spending more time this winter in the medical center courtyard than hanging out in museums and coffee shops, I rethought my F/W shopping plans to prioritize cozy comfort clothing. I wanted the sartorial equivalent of grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, so I ordered this flannel “duster” (their term…maybe because it’s longer than their tunics but shorter than a dress) from Duluth Trading Co.

I didn’t put a lot of effort into styling and it’s still wrinkled from the packaging, but I think you can get the idea of it. I’d love thoughts on ways to wear, open or closed. With a belt? As a dress with tights and tall boots? Over a dress? With jeans and a cream cami to lighten things up? This is really all the warmth I need for a lot of the cooler months, so no need to worry about layering on top.
