(See this post for background: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....unch-boots )
Here are a couple trial runs in these beautiful “retro YLF” boots.
• While I prefer a longer leg line since these boots are closer to my skin tone, here’s an aha moment. I *can* fit skinnies into them with a caveat. These are zippered skinnies. Put on pants with ankle zip undone, put on boots with shaft scrunched as far down to the ankle as possible, put jeans into the wider boot opening, zip, pull boots up. This probably won’t work without the zipper. (Waves hi to my super wide calves!) It felt comfortable. And I like showing off my full legs. Becoming serious about running has made me see my legs as powerful tools that I’m rather proud of. Thanks, legs!
• With a dress: asymmetrical hem above the knee on one side and below the knee on the other. I LOVE this. It would work like so in warmer weather, but in colder weather I’d pop on my side-slit satin bomber or a denim jacket or perhaps a leather jacket as a topper.
• Since I was revisiting very old items, for the first time in at least a year I’m also trying out my oldest specs. I love these a lot. The designer was inspired by a racecar, and the chartreuse color is so unusual. They are a bit worn on the inside of the arms (where you wouldn’t see it) but mostly I’ve worn other frames because these have a shorter lens, and that was annoying when I spent a lot of time on a large computer monitor at work.
And yeah, I’m giving the faded-to-blonde hair a break and going back to super vibrant plum and fuchsia dye for a bit. I needed something vivid with the dwindling daylight hours.
