Jules and cat2, thanks for your inclusive, wise, and encouraging thoughts! Jules, appreciate the shout-out too.

LJP, apology accepted. Onward!

Back to earth tones, how you feel about them, and which palettes you'd like to see.

Dee, it was the only bit of lime in the store! I made a bee-line for it

Irina, I just saw your question about sizes. Sorry I missed it. I will PM details about sizing.

Jenava, no need to give up colours. EVER! If '90s Minimalism does not feel authentic for your style - ignore it. Easy

Sounds like the mainstream cargo bottoms trend was a good decision! Hope you find your versions. I'm seeing lots of them in earth tones, actually.

I love earth tones on others, but after dabbling a bit I’ve accepted I don’t wear them well. Will continue to hunt for my elusive-of-late accent colors (blue- leaning teal and berry tones) to complement my navies and cool grays. Had some luck with mid tone blue tops from Quince in stretch silk which will be good for the office and to dress up jeans.

I’m a short inverted triangle and I’ve always loved the way wide leg pants balance out my proportions. Aritzia now has a low rise version of the effortless pant in several earth tones, making this style potentially wearable for me. I’ll wait for a navy or gray version though.

I still like the bronze and olive items I own, they feel like earth tones for a Spring palette? Other than those I have very few- one brown floral skirt from about 2008 and one brown peplum top from 2018, I think.
Keep bringing on the bright pinks, greens, yellows and cobalt blues otherwise! And red too.
I have a new top to model when I get home and it is cool enough weather-wise. My one purchase for this year so far. Lots of colours.

Angie, how delightful to have such a fun, fruitful shopping day with a friend! I am eager to see the lime/natural dress on you (what a unique color combo that you don't see very often!), and the pants look awesome.

I have been incorporating earth tones (e.g., browns, cinnamon, caramel, camel, olive) into my wardrobe while they are readily available and loving it! I favor muddy colors across the board, so earthy colors fit in well. I also love utility and cargo styles, so I am happy about that too!

I know I'm a broken record about this :), but I shop mostly online/ consignment so there is always a range of colors (despite what is trendy at the moment), which is one of the things I really appreciate about this type of shopping.

There are earth tones for all of us it seems. YAY!

KMM, I haven't seen the lower rise version of the Effortless Pants, and will check it out!

Jenni, we enjoy a similar colour palette!

Jonesy, thanks for the kind words about our fun day of shopping and the my fab-for-me stash! You are soooo right about online shopping allowing us to select from a wider colour palette. I make use of that benefit quite a bit

Your new pieces are perfect! I am especially enchanted with the dress, which reminds me of a vintage piece. Am with Jonesy 100% about the advantages of second hand shopping in terms of finding colors (and silhouettes) that are not necessarily "on trend" at the moment.

I like the unusual color combination of the dress you bought! And as I recall apple green was on your wishlist this year though I bet you didn’t think it would be in a pattern with beige.
I am ok with earth tones, they’re not my personal favorite, but I do dabble from time to time! I remember in the early noughties I had a penchant for chocolate brown, and these days I occasionally wear light tan/beige and, more regularly, cream/off white. I’m rather taken with cream lately actually.
My main hope is that all colors and all neutrals are available all the time!

Jaime, you're right!

Jussie, good memory! And yes, a VERY unexpected colour combination. I remember when dark brown was big about 17 years ago, and EVERYWHERE. Then grey took over.

Lovely new additions to your wardrobe.
It seems that I am late adopter and it took couple of years for me to start appreciating earth colors and adding some to my wardrobe.

I’m over earth tones and looking for lively colors. At the moment my favorites are pink and teal blue.

Earth tones always make me happy. I never tire of them. Cargos are essential in my wardrobe. Sounds good to me.

cat2 - I am sorry for what your father said to you.
