WWAD: What Would Angie Do? Great question to take into a dressing room.
And yet....I agree with Elisabeth. Angie's style is always modern and youthful (while also classic) but it is never "cute." Not as I understand that term.
Rightly so. "Cute" would never have worked on Angie, at any age. It's like what Day Vies said. She was never really attracted to cute, and that makes sense; despite her incredibly warm smile, dancing eyes, and dewy skin, she doesn't look remotely cute and it is difficult to imagine that she ever did after the age of 10. Whereas Cheryl and Nicki *do* look cute, and cultivate the look, and it works for them.
My point is that many more petite women are encouraged to aim for *cute* or rely on cute as default style because in their youth it is easy and they can "get away with it" in a way that women with different body types perhaps could not. **Even when it is not their natural style.** Or maybe "best look" is another phrase.
I don't know if I am making sense. Because obviously, cute works for MANY petite women and works better for them, for longer (arguably) than it does for others. I just think when it fails on a petite woman (whether due to her age or other factors, such as its simply not being her best or most natural style) it seems to fail quite spectacularly.
