Count your Sweaters!

Angle's topic today coincided with laundry day and as I put the clean clothes away I decided to count my sweaters. 10 cardigans, 1 of which is new in 2016 and 13 pullovers, 11 new in 2016. I am definitely on a pullover kick considering how many I added this year.

How about you? How many sweaters to you own?

7 pullovers, 7 cardigans. Most of the cardigans are lightweight late spring/summer/early fall.

Oh no! Not going there. I have maybe 5 or 6 cardis, but I'd guess I have more pullovers than we have cold days in the South!

Roughly 16 apiece. (Hard to tell where the line is between lightweight knitwear and pullovers.) With a few exceptions, the cardigans are dedicated to wearing over warm-weather clothing in air-conditioned environments.

I'm rather afraid to count.
I wear sweaters a lot, but don't necessarily need a lot sweaters ( or as many!) to meet that goal.
I buy new ones without targeting one to toss out to make room.
I think it's the warmth plus variable lengths & necklines plus knitwear is available in a great range of colors.

Five sweater dresses (my absolute favorite thing to wear this time of year), 6 pullover sweaters, 4 cardigans that are part of twinsets, 1 long cardigan.

12 pullovers, 4 cardigans.
If sweatshirts count as sweaters, I have 3 pullover and 4 cardigan ones.

After doing this inventory, I have decided that I don't have enough sweaters and this is why I have been a meat popsicle this last few days and I am now obsessed with finding more sweaters.

Thin ones. Made of merino wool. So that I can layer them, lots of them, without looking like the Michelin Man.

And as soon as I go buy a ton of sweaters, it will return to the usual too damn hot in Texas and I'll see all those sweaters and wonder "whyyyyyyyyyy??? What was I thinking!!!!" LOL

8 feels like not enough for me.
I'd like maybe 5 or 6 more in different textures.

My last count was documented on the forum and has already increased. I'm a sweater lover and knitter. Let's just say I live in the rust belt. It was -4 F on Friday. It's 12 F now. Yes, sweaters, cardigans, they are my dear friends for six months every year.

Hehe, easy - 4 pullovers and 3 cardigans, would you believe? I am almost ashamed to tell. And I live in a 4 seasons climate. The reason of such a skimpy wardrobe is that since when I decided to buy better (only things that I really like, no more meh items) shopping has become a little more complicated ....

5 pullovers, 3 cardis, and I live in a cold part of the world! To be fair, I purged quite a few sweaters over the past few years -- basically anything with acrylic or polyester in it. also, I'm not counting my black merino jacket which I wear like a sweater; it has a hood and a zipper, so does that really count as a cardigan? Hmm.

Nope, not counting. I have a bunch. Love and wear them all except the creamy white cashmere pullover (because it strikes me as just a little too fussy on me).

Those of us who live in areas with cold weather for more than six months of the year need more sweaters! We collect them and wear them day after day, often in combination. I have and wear 25 pullovers and 15 cardigans. These include sweaters of different weights. I wear lighter cardigans in the summer, lighter pullovers in spring, early fall, and summer evenings, and mid weight and heavy cardigans and pullovers in spring, fall, and winter. I need a lot of sweaters. Cold weather dwellers, please count your sweaters too!

Oh my! I definitely have way more than 13 pullovers. I'm with Diana and Tanya and don't want to count. I don't even wear cardigans that often and I probably have at least a dozen.
