I think it's Beth Ann who creates a Holiday capsule to wear DAILY from now until Jan 2nd. What a great idea! You do not need a party to go to, to look festive.

Create your own dressed down versions or work appropriate looks to wear each day and spread that good cheer. Be the stylish example within your environmental norm.

Make sure your outfits make you extra happy from now till the end of the holidays and post them if you can. Sparkle, colour, texture, drape, bling, skirts, dresses, costumes, pattern, retro, blue hair, red lippie - do whatever it takes to put you into the holiday mood and create extra pizazz in your outfits.

If you can't manage a festive look daily, try one a few times a week - or even once a week.

What a fabulous challenge! And great memory, Angie! If you hadn't mentioned it I would have forgotten Beth Ann's "fashion advent." LOVE it.

I am up for this with the caveat that I won't begin until next week. Next week I have my first holiday "party" so it is a good time for me to begin.

I'm in! Inspired by Beth Ann, I put together a mini holiday capsule last year, to be worn from Thanksgiving Day through New Year's day, and I'm going to do a repeat this year. Among other things, it breaks up the long winter a bit.

You know when someone reminds of some wonderful garment that you've even forgotten you owned? Well, this post is just like that, only it's a whole capsule!

Two years ago, I did my first holiday capsule. I reprised it last year, but am having trouble staying on my sartorial feet since my move. Nothing serious --- it's just taking longer than I hoped to have a sense of how I'm going to live and work in my new place.

I can't simply repeat last year's capsule, since I'm not working at the University and don't have any holiday parties or performances this year. I have added a few casual items this fall, so I think I'll end the next few days with a little outfit creation!

I'll start wearing my holiday capsule on Thanksgiving day, but I'll likely still be formulating the outfits for the first week or so!

I'm in! Even though I have no parties to go to, I am feeling festive now that our home project is over. ( I also didn't get a chance to feel or look festive earlier this month for Diwali, which happens to be the equivalent of Christmas here in India). And I can finally join all you ladies in wearing cold weather outfits!

P.S. I actually keep the Holiday capsule going until Jan 6 -- Epiphany (Twelfth Day, or Three Kings Day). When I was a kid, my family had a retail store. Between retail and music, we never felt we had time to enjoy the Holidays. Reclaiming the practice of a 12 day celebration brought back more relaxation and joy -- and gave us time to reflect on the spiritual significance of the season, too. We often have a casual party on Jan 6, or thereabouts. I serve soup and salad and homemade bread --- as a holiday detox. We sing our Holiday favorites once more before boldly striding into winter.

Hi Angie. I've started! With your great post last week about adding plaid for the holidays, I put together this outfit with a taffeta ball skirt, my dear MiL's fur cuffs and tartan plaid button down for a black-tie gala on Saturday evening. It was very fun to wear and put me in the holiday-dress-festive spirit! For everyday I'm going to add my red wool peacoat and fun brooches and sparkles to everyday work wear. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have a few items from over the years and one of my favorites is a grey scarf that has sequins in it. A great / easy way to make things a little brighter during the holiday season!

I will join in by making a special effort with styling my hair, painting my nails,and wearing colourful lipstick. I want to be more "groomed" and this is a good incentive!
