This is the ultimate matchy matchy look, pairing with a wall! Love this! Truthfully I don't own many prints in my wardrobe but the majority of what I do have are florals.

Today's floral print is in honor of Brooklyn, my other Ted Baker tee. The bright pink is not one of my usual colors.
The photo is an older one, but I am wearing the same tee and probably the same dark navy jeans although they look more fitted today.

I don't have much in this category but it's more than I thought when I first saw the challenge. Seeing so many floral patterns together has helped to clarify for me that I really enjoy the dark florals such as Brooklyn wears. I should focus on those if I decide to add more floral patterned items.

Sally I love that you match your wallpaper... It's a great pattern!

My outfit feels like loungewear - baggy cropped boyfriend jeans, a floaty floral peplum top and comfy slippers. The shoes are new and I'm thinking of keeping them at work to change out of my boots when I wear skirts or dresses in the coming months.

Ok, I can see I need to work on my selfie skills, but here goes:

1. Boho top from Anthroplogie that I've had for ages, worn with the (floral) embroidered white jeans I got this summer, also Antrho.

2. Botanical dress by a Portland designer, purchased from a boutique in SE Portland that is now closed. We miss you, Moxie! Not a great photo but I love this dress.

3. Sleeveless black and white floral top I bought at Jigsaw a few years back.

4. Better photo of floral jeans, a favorite purchase from earlier this year.

5. Top from Sundance, and 6. floral detail of the sleeve

7. Black and white floral skirt, an Angie find that bought last year from Anthropologie

I had to lighten some of the photos to show the colors of the clothes; my face is not that red in RL!

I really enjoyed going through my florals and putting together some new looks with a few of them. A good reminder to wear some of these older floral items while it's still summer!

Sal, thank you so much. I admire you for taking time to write so many kind, encouraging comments.

Laura G., thanks. I don't know how old my chain belt is. It's secondhand, and I got it about 10 years ago. But I remember that I wore similar belts around 1970. I like your retro-chic floral outfits. And I hope you have recovered from your initial pattern challenge shock and enjoy seeing a great variety of patterns here in the forum.

Berkeley Girl, what a beautiful, unique sleeve detail!

Sal, if you do the wallpaper challenge, I'll do a pic at my paisley desk in the shirt I'm using for inspiration

I have lots of florals, just wore a black and white floral dress today, but am not sure I'm up to the "outfit" level with them yet.

Berkeley girl, I like your style. That sleeve is very cool, but my favorite is either 3 or 7. And I vote yes on the pants in your earlier post!

Sara L, you may not have a lot of florals, but what you've got is strong. I still think those pants are great on you. #5 is really nice too.

The Cat, love your mixing the palm trees with the stripes. Your skirt in #2 is killer.

Sal, I love your "wallpaper top." Also, I love your wallpaper.

The Cat,
stripes + flowers make a winner!

Staysfit,
that DVF halter is stunning.

Brooklyn,
you know I love all your florals, but #4 is my fave.

skylurker
, ADORE the Liberty print!

Deborah, I've never been a huge fan of bright colors with black, but I think it works here... maybe because of the black in the dress print.

LBD, the black skirt is great. Is it embroidered?

Joy, I love your bomber, but my favorite outfit is the red tunic over blue jeans. Fab!

LauraG, #6 is my favorite. I also love your bookcase.

delurked, I remember that picture!

JAileen, the print in #4 is GORGEOUS. Is that a scarf?

Berkeley Girl, the floral jeans are perfect on you. Absolutely age appropriate, and I like them the best of all your florals.

SaraL, #1! #1! #1! So good.

Astrid, the ring and the flowers are a great complement. I like the shoes too.

I am at work and need to focus today so I will reply tonight to the wonderful florals and comments...

Right back at you Joy! I am also wearing my culottes in your honour

Lost my post but love that outfit on you, Brooklyn. I am going to stalk ebay for the cardigan and bag in that pattern

Thanks all for the feedback and the compliments!

LBD, your floral looks really suit you and you look lovely in all of them. If you're a bombshell, be a bombshell!

Jenn, those are some lovely pieces. Ah, Anthropologie! It's so hard to resist the dreamy fantasy of their aesthetic.

Sarah L, I love all those looks, especially photos 1 and 2.

Love this thread! I have gone over my wardrobe lists and found 22 florals. I've had a few minutes in today's afternoon off to photo some in DD's ditzy blue floral bedroom circa 1993, with a close-up of the wallpaper too. And some WIWs from since I joined YLF in January. I think Brooklyn still beats me
And for Brooklyn, as the earlier WIWs were dark, it is tunics in pics 2 and 4 or top in pic 5 which I pattern mix with fave summer jacket ( floral bomber) of pic 3.

Fashiontern and Jenn, thank you.

Jenni NZ, lovely collection of florals! It is hard to pick a favourite. However, you look particularly happy in #22, and it is fun to see how great you match the interior of the bar.

Thanks The Cat! It was a lovely pop-up gin bar. We didn't end up staying as a big queue ( there was a hen's night) and also it felt much too girly to DH. But we did read the recipes for the pink gin cocktails and now I can whip one up easily as anything at a much lesser cost! Also I see the floral bomber is slung over my arm in that pic. I forgot I pattern mix it with that tunic as well.
I'll post this then go back a page to check everyone's outfits again!

OK this is a tricky back-and-forth and I need to cook dinner! Some early faves: Sal's blouse of course, The Cat's palm print dress, Staysfit's Lilly Pulitzer silk dress and floral hat, and LBD's floral skirt with the turquoise top. I'll be back, to quote the Terminator x

OMG, Jenni how lovely collection of floral you have almost boutique of floral I wish to have some of them.

Brooklyn, I'm checking your old thread about dark summer florals, my faves were pic 6 (ASOS column embroidered dress ) and pic 9 ( Portman's vintage wine skirt). Portman's has come here and my DD 2 aged 23 likes it a lot, now she has graduated and has a job she can afford a slightly higher quality than her previous K-mart!

Jenni, thanks. What a collection you have! My faves are the top in 6 and the dress in 10.
Portmans is good for cute business wear. Some of it is a bit young for me but I just love their floral. They seem to be able to pick prints that I really like.
And thanks Jenn too. I wish we had anthropologie here. Love that top of yours.

Love this thread, but I am little late, the reason is vacation.. Here are some of my florals , they are already posted but now collected.

Sal -- Beautiful silk tunic. Amazing how such a large print can look so soft.

Brooklyn -- I love the dramatic rose tee. I never thought of florals as dramatic, but you, Joy and Jenni have got it down.

Berkeley Girl -- Great floral jeans. I'd wear them in a second, but you knew that, right? And floral jeans + peplum top = honorary dress.

Skylurker -- Great colors in the dark floral shirt. Definitely should come out from under the pullover at least some of the time.

Jenn -- The embroidered Anthropologie top is really special, and I want your warm-colors long scarf.

Sara L. -- Those fab floral pants again, WOW on the paisley top, and the tent dress with those great sandals looks so cool and...insouciant for summer.

Mirjana -- my favorite is #5, white jeans with sophisticated white floral tee.

I've gotten into these kind of prints in a big way, after years of favoring striped and geometric prints (and conversational prints.) Here are some recent examples, including my first ever jumpsuit! I'm adding the find for 3 in case the embroidery isn't visible.

Here are a couple from me. I started out he day in bamboo, then saw Ryce's post about the anti-fascist protester and changed into the skirt.

I have mixed feelings about that. We wore hoodies for Treyvon, but innocent black people who were killed by cops? I can't remember this kind of thing. I realize it isn't exactly the same thing; she went out of her way to call for peace, whereas they were just living in their skin. But I don't think we should
forget them or her, so I'll jump on a bandwagon for any of them.
I'll try to add more pix of florals, etc later.

Goodness this thread has exploded - I am about to start the next one, so I will be brief in my comments. Again, I love seeing how people interpret different patterns and make them their own. Florals of course can be pretty, but they can also be sophisticated, edgy, elegant, playful and even subversive. Anyone who says - I don't like florals - they only need to look at this thread and I am sure they will find a way they do like them. Jon has two floral shirts and they really suit him - one is white with blue and green tracery and one is navy with mustard daisies.

Anyway to the replies!!

Brooklyn, Delurked, Joy, Rachylou, Laura, Lisa, The Cat, Fashiontern - thank you.

BG - I looked at both lots of pics and I love those pants, how fun. Great colours on you. Your photos are great, I struggle with not looking grumpy in mine:)

Skylurker - those shirts are great. I like the dark look but can see that it might feel more comfortable in autumn. I also like the liberty print and you wear it very well.

Jenn - your scarf is great but your floral paper art takes the win. I loved your paper flowers instagram challenge. And I just realised that my kimono is floral rather than an alternative pattern:)

Joy and Brooklyn - these floral tee's are perfect on you. I would love on but think I am the wrong shape for them. I will just admire them on you both and thanks for being so much fun.

Sara - I like your florals, they suit your clean style very well. I hope you can find some more dark florals (I think there will be winter options this season)

Astrid, that is a pretty peplum top and you wear it well. Comfortable and smart is a perfect combination.

Jenni - that wallpaper. Very Laura Ashley - and so pretty!! My favourite is your bomber - I love that. I also love the boots, the sweater with the rusty red embroidered leaves and your evening bags. Florals suit you very well indeed.

Mirjana - lovely to see you. You wear dresses so well and I like them all but am particularly drawn to the geometric floral in picture 1. It really suits you and I can imagine it being a very versatile top. And I hope you had a great holiday.

Second group of comments!!

Christina - I love the jumpsuit, what a fun summer piece. I have been keeping an eye out for one for a couple of years without success.

Fashiontern - you look good in your casual florals. I do like the colour of the bamboo top, I have not seen Ryce's thread so will look it up.

So many beautiful florals and botanicals on this thread.
Below are some more outfit photos and finds from my wardrobe that you did not see me wearing. I really like leaf motifs and don't have Fimds for some favorite pieces.

Thank you very much Laura G and Sal for your nice comments.
Joy, so many beautiful floral items, your wardrobe is really endless.

Jenn, yes #4 is a scarf that I thrifted. It says it's Gucci. I don't know if it is authentic because it's smaller, but I have seen other ones the same size. The fabric feels very lux. The pattern is fun with all the insects tucked in among the flowers.
