Yes, I am being facetious.

I don’t love beige. But I struggle with most pale neutrals. They wash me out. Plus I’m not attracted to pale colours generally. But I like the contrast and lift that they bring to an otherwise dark outfit, so I am always looking for ways to incorporate them that are JFE and feel authentic to me.

With this beige top, I was drawn to the brown and red diamond pattern. Diamonds are almost as good as chevron in my book. I like mesh too. I think it adds a hard edge and has a nice texture when layered.

I wore this out to dinner with DH. I sneaked a plum coloured layering top underneath the mesh to increase the face flattery and warmth. It’s body con but because it’s super stretchy it’s comfortable. I repeated the diamond motif in my necklace. The skirt is a dark red burn out velvet (it looks black in the pic but the overall look was warmer than it appears). Also wore my bronzed up bag because it has a beige-ish tone.

I was going for Funkytown meets Byzantine but these types of experiments don’t always go to plan. I thought it turned out a bit Scottish highlands gothic
