Barely Boho / "Country Cousin" version of Brooklyn's Peruvian Connection dress

Hi YLFers --

So like many, I read and responded to Brooklyn's gleaming "Byzantine Jewel" outfit thread -- but didn't realize the dress I had my eye on was actually the same [ETA: cut +] print as one of hers!

In my defense, I remembered the more golden one and this one *can* photograph dark, ha.

As a secondhand find at 1/4 retail I took a chance.

I was saving it for warmer temps but the fabric is very very soft and I have a couple of slouchier, hand-me-down merino sweaters I like with it, so...

the casual, covered-up version of Ms Brooklyn's warm-weather glam!

Such a great dress shape and design, and the colours are gorgeous. I've never seen the label at retail.

Runcarla -- Thank you! This drape-with-overlay style is one of my fav classic styles and sometimes I regret reselling a sleeved version after years of happy wear vs just putting it away til it seemed new.

I've never seen PC in person/retail though they do have stores, but it does turn up a fair bit on US eBay and Poshmark.

Janet -- It's such an easy lightweight style to wear, and like Brooklyn your shoe collection would let you take it in interesting directions. Just sayin'. And thank you...wasn't sure about the semi-slouchy long sweater but liked it more than I thought I would.

Elizabeth -- yes, it's *exactly* the same dress! I knew it was the same cut, just had terrible short-term memory re the print ai yi yi. Thank you...I hope I can do it justice when it warms up!

Suntiger (again) -- oh I love that other print too; thankfully totally wrong shades for me so I'm safe from temptation! You and Brooklyn with your beautiful semi-dupes that are so different you won't care.

Barbara Diane and Firecracker -- thank you! I love greens so much but only a narrow slice work on me. Shades like this sweater make me SO HAPPY to wear haha and I they're a go-to for less formal job-related and networking stuff.

Kate, Taylor, Brooklyn, and RainB -- glad the layering weights and colors look good to your experienced eyes! I think (hope) the deep colors help the lightweight fabric look seasonal. Whatever that means in my zip code right now....

Smittie and FashIntern -- thank you both! Agree it'll be fun to uncover (though hmmm, took me long enough to figure out the jewelry for this version!)

Shevia and Sarah -- I'm so drawn to oceanic colors (esp in the grey winters, ha) and don't always hold out for a bargain...but I sure prefer when love and money-saving overlap!

ps Brooklyn -- the boots are actually a bitter chocolate faux suede (Goretex'd and tractioned so amazing for the wet) with a black patent heel. Better pics on this old YLF thread about my trip to Spain -- you responded then, too.

I think they're 5 - 6 years old and I don't know why ARA can't just make them and the bootie version standards. Hashtag sleekandmadeforwalking

Thanks Vix. I suspect black tall boots might be a little heavy with the dress. That’s why I asked - because yours look good (and I’d be happy to be proved wrong). Brown is a good choice. I do have some old brown boots but they are a little bit RATE. I might try burgundy instead.
