Brooklyn's birthday party pics almost - but not quite - blew your outfit photos out of my mind. Those are some sophisticated doggy circles! Anyway, your asymmetric outfits are splendid! I love how you pulled out your patchwork bag. This is basically me in every thrift store - I am in it for the treasure hunt and the clues are today's trends (and/or Angie's posts). Anyway, the newly revived skirt deserves a special shout out, along with your amazing ombre jacket. Gorgeous!

Thanks Shevia. I’m pondering the idea of having a “curated” section in my wardrobe. A fancy way of saying I want to set aside part of my wardrobe for things that I can keep and wear forever. Subject to wear and tear of course. The patchwork bag is one. The ombré jacket is another.

Slim cat, I agree completely. I really like the long blazer trend but with a flared midi skirt I look like I’m off to the office. I watch Trinny Woodhall a lot on YouTube. She favours a similar silhouette to me (different colour palette). Lots of midaxi and maxi skirts, and long flared pants. And she tends to wear quite long coats with them. Some are lightweight for warmer weather. They look great but are quite hard to find!

Jonesy, all the dogs know each other and get along very well. Still I was surprised at how polite they were about waiting for their piece of cake. It was a lot of fun.

You have such willowy elegance about you, and the jagged and asymmetric hemlines bring out so much movement in your outfits—very nice! And how cool that you couldn’t fool your friend with the skirt—she’s paying attention. An enthusiastic “yes!” from me to holding onto garments you love.

FI, that’s a lovely compliment. Thank you. I’ve been thinking a lot about having an “icons” section of my closet. I’m still trying to work out a plan for adding and editing but the idea kind of excites me. It’s good to get excited about stuff that you already own
