Angie put a really thoughtful note in a different thread about trying a new style of jeans. (I have been wearing one style J Crew skinnies FOREVER!)
She suggested: "How about trying a pair of high waisted relaxed straight jeans? Change things up from the super skinnies."
As I wrote there, I would love another style, but have so much trouble with proportions. So, Angie and others: are there any particular brands/cuts would you recommend for me? I'm all ears!

I've kissed a few denim frogs over the past week or so and am still looking for a comfy mid-weight, mid-wash slouchy girlfriend jean, but in the meantime I found at least one pair that I really like that ticks the box for clean wash and straight-leg cut. I love the shape, which remind me of a pair of Alex Mill pants I got last year and quite like (also in Finds). The wash is nice and clean, the quality is very good, and they really fit my "softly utilarian" moniker. If these are of interest to you, I highly recommend. (Angie, these would be short on you, but you might like them in a tall?)
