Dear Angie and Forum, I could use some feedback on this EF red silk dress. I have not had any of the boxy-shift style dresses and don't know if this is JFE or NF! Most EF dresses don't work for me but I was taken in by the color, high neckline (boatneck) and that maybe the length would be ok, and that it would feel breezy and unconstricted. Not a whole new direction planned but just to have fun with something different.. In addition I have not had success with asymmetrical hems--I tried one of Angie's cute finds--as somehow they are usually too dramatic and I look off-kilter.
This color is very delicious and I think the asymmetry is clever wrap style that works for me because it is partly longer in front and partly gives illusion the whole dress is longer even though it's above knee in back. It is fun and fluttery IRL but it IS boxy. I am more sensitive to too much above-knee hems, but this fun tricky "it's really shorter" hem can work much better with flats or nearly flat footwear and less dressy shoes so that was another angle for trying it.

I do NOT like the sleeve length--a straight boxy elbow length is not good on me IMO so I would plan to hem an inch? or so at least, not to a cap sleeve but midway. I think pic 1 is the sleeve as-is and 3 I turned under a bit.

What are thoughts? Am I out in the weeds? I showed with nude-for-me footwear for a summer look, do have other options but these are quick tryons. Ideas on sleeve length?

Thank you for any comments!
