I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. We completely understand if you are not around while you're being a good friend to your friend and his family.

I LOVE the boots! (Obviously I'm biased because I'm an Eject fan). There is a gap, which means these aren't sleek boots, but I still think they are very cool. No witchiness at all.

So sorry to hear your news. It must be devastating for your friends to say the least. I am sure they appreciate the support (I know I would) and care you have shown them.

I like the tunic (maybe not for the office) actually. It could go over skinny jeans for an evening out and be fun for warmer weather.
Not sure how to judge the boots - initially I was a nay on them but i like the black (is it grayish black?) is better than the brown I saw. They are totally steampunk. Can we see your other boots you were trying to replace?

Your friends are very lucky to have you helping them through this very difficult time Una - I can't even imagine what they must be going through. I hope they are able to receive some sort of good news at Mayo.

I love both the lace tunic (great VV score!) and the boots. I can see both of these working well with your wardrobe and style. The boots do have a gap but I don't think it's a deal breaker - it's part of the style.

In happier news, I LOVE the boots! I can see you wearing these all the time. I actually prefer a little gap on boots of this height since they hit below the widest part of the calf anyway. And the fit at the ankle is great. They make you look tall and I think they are very flattering on your slim legs. The tunic is great too.

It's so sweet of you to help that young lady take her mind off her dad's illness. Such a very difficult and painful time for your friends --- of course we understand that has to be your priority over YLF just now! Fingers crossed Mayo is able to help them. It is so sad that such impossible choices are forced on the medical community due to a lack of enough donors It's really heartbreaking when you have to confront that gap on behalf of someone you know and love.

Una: So sorry to hear the news about your friends. I'm sure we made a difficult situation a little more bearable for them.

The boots have a strong UWP look, but I think by pairing them with other modern, but simple items they can carry an outfit by themselves. The gap is not an issue at all to my eye, and I rather like the height of the shaft.

I know boots must seem unimportant right now, but I hope you find some comfort in these... they are unbelievably cool - like part of a suit of armor! The gap is even cool, because of the dainty ankles and edgy style. LOVE.

You all are so wonderful. I know each of you would do the same for your friends in such a situation, and I just wish I could do more for them.

I'm wavering on the boots now... They may be a bit *too* pirate-like for me. I think I need something with a less pointy toe. Or else I need to carry a sword. Who knew finding black boots could be such a struggle?

Nooooooo! I LOVE those boots! Do you also have them on in the first picture with the tunic? They are what makes the tunic and leggings look so cool. Please keep them if they are at all comfortable. I couldn't use the link to find your boring black boots.

Well I am biased toward pointy toes, and the first picture cuts off the toe so I can't get the full effect, but I think these boots (and tunic) look great!

Well, I for one have never seen a pirate in boots like that. I usually see an exaggerated cuff on pirate boots.

These aren't pirate boots to me. They are definitely what Rae said, suit-of-armour boots, and as such I think you should wear them! They are gorgeous and suit you.
