Inspired by Angie’s post about metallic jackets, I thought it would be fun to do a head to toe metallic look. This is my take on Angie’s outfit no 2: gold jacket with a column of brown.

I like metallics that are aged, muted, blackened or brushed. More glimmering than shiny. I like bronze, dark or old gold, pewter, and some versions of copper.

The jacket here is a dark gold. It has a black thread running through it that darkens it nicely.

The boots are brown boots that I bronzed lightly with bronze polish.

The skirt and jumper are also bronze.

And the bag is a mix of brushed pewter and copper. It’s more shiny than my usual preference. But I’m ok with it. Probably because I have such a sweet spot for ombre.

I wore this during the day to go to lunch and walk my dog for 2 hours afterwards. Unfortunately the strap broke on my bag (DH will fix) but I was otherwise comfortable. It didn’t feel too blingy for me but, as a person who avoids wearing bright colours, I understand that preferences differ!

Your thoughts welcome.
