This weekend B. and I attended the first of several weddings taking place over the summer. The first three weddings, today included, all involve the same group of friends; several of us had worked together years ago (back when I was reading but not posting on YLF, and around the time that B. and I first met) and have stayed friends long after leaving the company, meeting up when we can.

Today's wedding took place on a farm. The ceremony was outdoors, and despite a slightly overcast sky, we were rewarded with sun breaks and no rain in sight. I chose to wear a chunky, low heel in anticipation that I'd be walking on grass and gravel some of the time. (Additionally, B. is only slightly taller than I am, so I prefer to wear a low heel when we'll be standing next to each other so I don't end up towering over him.)

At the reception, held in a barn with wide doors opening to the patio, we enjoyed wine, beer, Mac & Cheese, sweet potato fries, salad, and pie. (I'm not much of a cake gal; I'm always tremendously excited whenever pie is served at a wedding!) B. and I had a great time catching up and laughing with our friends, and I felt very honored to participate in the day. The next wedding is in just a few weeks, so we'll be able to catch up with the bride and groom a bit more while watching our other friends wed one another. B. took me for a few spins around the dance floor (which I was quite touched by, since dancing is not his favorite activity) before we left, and we grabbed a jar of homemade jam as a souvenir.

I wore my favorite coral and white patterned Tahari wrap dress, aqua chunky, low-heeled pumps, and purple beaded necklace with my new cobalt handbag and nude microfishnet tights with a seam at the back.
