That Madeline reference is spot on. Adored those books. And the Bad Hat Pepito was the son of the Spanish ambassador! And your coat is actually Spanish! The "Rovira" name makes me think of roving, kind of like gypsy but not boho/ bohemian exactly. I think it's the hair and coat together that seem sort of gypsy. Carmen might appear to join you any minute, Spanish after all. Gypsy chic?

PS off topic, but when the kids were little and something was a bit off or they were ill, we had a habit of going around saying " something is not right, something is quite wrong ..." A quote from when Madeline got appendicitis !

Hi Shevia --

I think the reds and the brown (rose brown? chocolate?) look great on you.

As always you look sparkling!

But to me the fit on many of these is way off in the shoulder/arm area -- have you dropped in size lately and perhaps buying too large? The prep sweater and red jacket (and maybe the brown sweater, harder to tell from photo) have a lot of bulk there.

Having once bought a skirt I loved with a pattern that worked out to create a bit of a "bullseye" at the crotch, I'm afraid I'm on the side of those who would personally pass. You wear them well, though, so if it doesn't bother you go for it!

Angie I did go for your suggestion, see below .
Sterling interesting. I am not into crotch highlighting but didn't see these that way, will consider. Appreciate the thought and your kind words.
Jenni NZ I think you are on to something. I have reason to believe that my family left Spain for Riga, Latvia around Spanish Inquisition time. And we read that Madeline countless times in this house too.
Vix I always value your eye and your insight. I will take your color comments to heart. I also think the red jacket is a poor fit around the shoulder and will probably sell it but meanwhile it was a good stand in here. Not sure about the varsity sweater because I actually really love to wear it, but it is surely not my most slimming look.

You can wear almost anything I think. The V-neck sweater would be a little bit masculine for me. The red coat is gorgeous, but you had me with the leather trousers with the white line. Gosh woman, what an absolute statement thing that is, a converstion starter and it looks superb on you. Wear it with confidence as you look so good in it. And no, this is not going to be everybody's taste. So what?
