An attempt to review my style and ask some questions by way of a bunch of blurry mirror selfies from the winter months.

1. My favorite new to me vintage coat of the season. Bright red Pedro Rovira Barcelona coat. I had never heard of him, but the coat was one of my favorite finds this year. If this is my style what do I call it?
2. When I first stopped coloring my hair, I lost interest in brown but I have been cautiously experimenting with it again. (All thrifted: Maya Negri sweater, old COH jeans, vintage Christian Dior combat style ankle boots.) Can I do brown?
3. When Angie wrote about v necks, I immediately thought of one of my favorite vintage sweaters - this one is from B. Altman, is 100% acrylic but looks a bit like the Boden sweater Angie featured. Is this what people mean by v necks looking too masculine?
4. When Inge featured Rosamarie I wanted to try to copy her outfit from my closet. The jacket is vintage DKS and the fit is a bit off but I don't have the perfect red leather coat (yet?). With thrifted Stella McCartney tee, thrifted Won Hundred jeans, Zara red shoes from end of season sale. Sell the jacket?
5. Without the red jacket. Shorten the jeans?
6. Finally the biggest question mark. Can I wear these crazy leather pants and if so at what length and how? (Thrifted Naor Jacoby leather pants, thrifted Enza Costa tee, K&K cream "Angie" boots.)

Jaime, you are so adorable! I hope you don't mind that word, but I think it every time I see your smile. The red coat is fab on you. And I have a similar V-neck sweater in black with red and white stripe, and you've just made me realize I haven't worn it in a year.

I love those leather pants and want to see them full-length.

What Janet said. And you know, I still can't get over how great your hair looks. Every time I see it I want to jump up and down and cheer.

The red coat is sensational on you! No wonder you love it. I am not sure if there is a name for the style...but remember when Angie called you "thrown together Tomboy"? Well...I think it's more the way you wear your items than what you wear (which makes sense since your wardrobe is large and eclectic). The "thrown together" element still rings true for me -- not in a careless or bad way -- more in a "carefree" way, if that makes sense. And in the last year or so I might want to say "thrown together femme" or something like that.

Love #2 as well. You can definitely do that brown. It looks almost plummy in the photo but must be chocolate? and absolutely works.

I am not in love with the sweater in #3 but I may have a slight poison eye...looks too "sporty" for you somehow.

Fun red jacket but if fit is off, of course keep looking! You definitely need one. Love the outfit without it also. And the pants are amazing! Show us in a few lengths! I think the only question about wearing them is whether you'll feel comfortable in them. They look so fun and interesting.

What Janet and Suz said so well. As far as the jeans, I would shorten them a bit for a very current look, but it depends on how you feel about wider crops. Have you tried the sweater with those crazy leather pants? I love them with your white booties.

Just looking at that red coat makes me happy. KILLER on you, sweet lady. And the cricket jumper is adorable in #3. Try it with burgundy shoes.

You ARE an Elegant Thrown Together Girly Tomboy. I see it stronger here than ever. High five, Suz.

Jeans look good at that length, and I like the outfit with and without the jacket.

As for the FAB leather pants in #6 - lets see them full length. Loving those buff yoga arms.

So fab! All of it! But I like pics #2, #6 the best. The color of the sweater is so flattering and I love the ease of the outfit in #2. And those leather pants are simply fantastic.

Love the red coat on you. It looks 60s influenced to me, but I don't have a name for it. Love the brown sweater and the leather pants too. Not wild about the cricket jumper but that's a personal thing, like pattern or print. You can definitely pull it off. And your hair looks so good, as usual.

Many years ago, pre-YLF, I fell in love with a red coat in a window in Paris. I walked past it 10 times and I even took a picture of it. It never occurred to me to go into the boutique, too intimidating.

Thank you so much for your thoughts. Interesting how polarizing the cricket sweater it and I still can't get over how popular my hair has become.
Janet - of course I don't mind the word adorable and it is quite fun for me, because adorable is not how I see myself at all. I actually have 'resting bitch face' in real life.
Suz your description sounds so delightful I want to become it! I wonder if I just lack the sporty associations that other people have with that sweater.
Joy I was thinking of cropping the pants and have no problem with wide crops, but I think I need to do some more experiments first.
Angie the red coat made me think of you the second I found it. And I tried it with your bright coat formula but the picture (added below) taken at night is even worse than the ones above. Elegant Thrown Together Girly Tomboy sound wonderful! It might be my brain that is the tomboy though.

Brooklyn the coat is literally from the 60s as far as I can tell. Might even be earlier. The sweater is so controversial! Interesting.

If you're worrying the chunky V-neck looks too masculine on you, maybe try a lightweight turtleneck or mock turtleneck underneath ?

I like all of these. I don't see the sweater as masculine but there may be a cultural thing going on there. It seems some people associate those with cricket which isn't played in the US. I like both red coats and the white tee in #5. I'm not sure about the leather pants. The leg width looks a little wide.

More love for the reds! The coat and jacket are both beautiful and look great on you. I also like the leather pants, very funky. Not sure about the v-neck, I had one years ago (maybe in the 80's?) so can't help but think that when I see it.

Cee it is more that I am curious why some see the sweater as sporty or masculine and some don't - I don't have the association, but there are no sporty men in my family, I wonder if that is connected.

I love the red coat on you. It is spectacular.

I am not certain how I feel about the pants. The lines draw my eye to your crotch area. That would bother me a lot.
