Cardiff girl --

Gorgeous suit and it looks just back from the tailor!

Since it's just a bit snug in the waist, have you thought about having it altered? There may even be seam allowance (as with most men's wear, grrr) given that it was a high-end piece. If not a little snip for an extension shouldn't be an issue...a friend's mom has that done on all her pants.

I'm glad you still wear the jacket but want you to have the whole deal...AND a meal.

ps I definitely have a few oldies but goodies. One being an ~ 18 y.o. silk bias-cut dress that outlasted the wedding for which I bought it!

You look fabulous in your suit. Vix makes a great suggestion and I had to laugh about her silk dress!

That s a great suggestion vix I will look into it.Thank you to everyone who s commented for all your lovely words and those with memories of Brighton ,thank you for sharing. You ve all been terribly kind,it means a lot.

OMG that looks amazing on you!

Diagone Alley without the wizards!....now you've totally made me want to go....

the suit is a total WOW! and you look fab! please consider Vix's suggestion to alter the pants.

Timeless suit.
And fits your perfectly!
Maybe you'll pass it on to your daughter one day?

High waist is becoming on trend again.

I'm late to the party here, but have to echo everyone's sentiments again - it's an amazing, elegant, timeless suit! Looks new, makes you look like a VIP, love it. As someone who wears suits for work from time to time, I'd love to have something like this as a go-to in my closet. Keep this forever!!

Gorgeous quality. You have to keep it. Very fun to have the vintage piece. You are wonderful.

Another fan of your suit... sharp style and it fits you perfectly. And the suit looks so brand new! I also am on the "clothing museum" side and find that often my old items fade a bit and that's how they show their wear.

I second the suggestion to get the waist altered to be more comfortable. Since it looks good on you it probably won't take too much to make it comfy. (I was also reminded me of my pregnancy trick of looping elastic bands around trouser buttons to keep wearing them--with long tops covering the waistline of course--and since your trousers are high-waisted maybe that's doable as a short-term, provisional solution?)

I simply love the suit styling from the late 90s!

I've never been to Brighton but it's on my list...

Thank you for your kind words all!l can recommend Brighton in the summer if you are ever this way.
