WIW :: Pear wears Apples (6) - #4173 Royal Gala

Yesterday Peri said “Do Gala” and since it was on my shortlist of possible apple inspirations I decided to give it a go for today’s running errands outfit. I did not have time to buy Gala apples to remind myself of their taste, so I consulted wikipedia for further inspiration.

~~ Gala apples ranked at number 2 in 2006 on the US Apple Association's list of most popular apples, after Red Delicious and before Golden Delicious,.

(Thinking hat on…) I’ll do a twist of the Red Delicious outfit and take something from the Golden Delicious one.

~~ Gala apples are sweet and aromatic, with a size that fits nicely into a child's hands.

Aha, anything child-related means I allow myself a bit OTT, so I decided to focus on the sweet aspect.

The outfit would be my take on sweet outfit, the necklace being the sweetener. It’s not really Royal Crown Jewels, but it is cute and fun and has all my main colours in it. Lately I’ve been wearing necklaces rarely, but spring especially has reignited my affection for them. I’m posting the outfit with or without the necklace for your honest opinions. I prefer my neck to be ‘supported’, which even the jacket over the collarless top doesn’t do enough for my liking, which is why I have slight preference for the outfit with the necklace — but I’m open to your input as my eye maybe needs to be trained.

I likey! I approve of the necklace. I think the outfit is simple enough in palette that it can take the necklace. Maybe if you had added a different colour belt and jacket it wouldn't look right, but as is looks good to me

YUM Gala! My second fave apple ^^ Love the look O, the nude oxfords are a great touch. I like the necklace version; it doesn't compete with the neckline since it mimics it, and adds a touch of sparkle.

Wow, Ornella, this really IS inspired. What a fabulous outfit on you! Super cute, and super practical, too. And you know what is even more fun? Put this top combo with your white skirt and you could actually attend a Royal Gala!!

I like the addition of the necklace, it's a fun piece. And it's nice to see a rolled jean with a flat shoe. Too often I see boyfriend jeans with rolled hems, and these sky high heels, oh my!

If not the white jeans then the fab BF makes this outfit stand out! Perfect choose of shoes and (yellow:-))bag! Love the all reds on top, the blazer is Gala(worthy) indeed!:-)
