Not the best picture; it was horribly hot and sticky, and my face was all puffy from crying the night before, having said goodbye to my baby and leaving her at college.

This is my "Little Navy Dress." Purchased in the spring. I have gotten a lot of mileage out of this dress, wearing it with boots and a cardigan or white denim jacket when it was cooler. It works great in the heat too, shorter length works well with these gold/nude sandals or with silver thongs with silver necklace. The dress is a substantial knit, double layered. I like the "sort of" empire waist -- it nips in at my real waist just on the sides, and then in the back the waistband rests a bit lower. It's difficult to describe. Next time I wear it, I'll take a back view so you can see. I love cowl necklines, and I like the drapey effect because it hides a multitude of mid-section sins. Which are a lot, when you just ate a very big brunch, and your 47 year old body is retaining water like a camel because of the heat!

I don't know about you but the last thing I want to wear is a synthetic shaper when it's 90 degrees out. What is with that? A knit is cool in the summer, but it clings and shows every bulge unless you wear a shaper, which then makes you way too hot?

Sunglasses: I forget what brand. Maybe Cole Haan? Hiding my puffy eyes.
Dress: Theory
Sandals: really old but still going strong
Necklace: "borrowed" years ago, (and never returned!), from my older daughter.
