Nordstrom Anniversary Sale now underway

July 17th, 2009

It is past midnight Pacific Standard Time and that means the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is officially underway. For those of us in the United States, this is the sale event of the season. And I’ve found the merchandise particularly good this year, so be sure to check it out.

Yeah! I managed to spend 2+ hours online, Northface coats for the kids, Frye boots for me, and yes, some new Uggs – just for you Angie – I know how much you like them! Plus the Ecco shoes, and lots of other goodies – can’t wait to see what works!

Sadly, underwhelmed.
I did love the experience–I “slept in”(waking at 7am EST), had a little breakfast in bed and surfed the sale. The only thing I really liked was a leather jacket that only came in petite, so I was out of luck.
No matter, I’ve got a jump start on the fall with stuff from various stores.Back to TJMaxx for me!
Hope you all had better luck then I did at NAS!

I am going after work today. I found out that a pair of shoes I really liked in the catalog comes also in gray (online) so I am really hoping the store has them too. Can’t wait for 5 pm.

Wooohoo, ladies! Fab scores. Can’t wait to see them.

PF, try and get to a store too. There were more pleather and leather jackets available there.

I have decided to treat myself to some things after a very long shopping abstinence. I am getting the Me Too ruffled flats and wedges, both in pewter. I also have my eyes on two jackets, I am going to ask your opinions on them on the forum in case someone has actually seen them in reality, since I sadly get not get to a real store.

I thought this started *tonight* – not last night. But I got online this morning and did some damage. I will probably end up returning much of it, because it won’t fit, but I figured I’d give it a try. Ordered two beautiful bags – one in purple and one in red. Hopefully I will at least like the bags. And I’m giving the Jane 14 Frye boots a try – I did not see them at the appointment and the shaft height looks about right.

Incidentally by my calculations the price discount is averaging about 20%.

I finally gave in and did a last minute presale yesterday. I did OK for me (three work sweater/jackets- the girl called them swackets, which is definitely making its way into my vocabulary) but BOY did I score for my kids. The kids’ sale is really, really good.

Excellent, Tanya and Mamark! Can’t wait to see the loot.

Shiny, you must have purchased items that weren’t on sale because items are marked down 40 to 60%. I was at the flagship a few minutes ago and am going back to shop with more clients after lunch. Hope you scored!

Bummer. Being from Canada, I had to wait ’til 7AM to phone in my order (the website won’t let you type in info for shipping to Canada). By that time, a number of the pieces I had in my virtual basket were no longer available. Not a lot of great stuff available for us size 16 ladies, but managed to stock up on a blazer, some cute tops and a wicked cardigan. Yes, it’s eileen fisher, but yes, it looks sexy.

Unfortunately Angie I don’t have a Nordstroms in my town, so no luck :-(

Don’t forget, the merchandise in the store is often slightly different than online. I bought a coat that came in red in the store, but only in gray online. There was also a red tweed high-waisted skirt that was not available at all online. Also, I think the average markdown is around 30% this year, FYI.
