Last week I was in NYC with a free evening so I last-minute texted everyone I know in New York and a former co-worker invited me to attend a fundraising holiday gala. I had nothing but jeans for the evening or my work suit, so I popped into Zara when I got off the train (after a very unpleasant 30 minutes in H&M, which I came to first...loud! Nothing nice!) looking for an inexpensive party outfit.
I have said here before that I really dislike my the Zara in our local mall -dirty, disorganized, poorly displayed items. However, when I order online, the packages are beautiful as if from a high end merchant. Total disconnect. The store in New York was lovely, and I liked just about everything i looked at.
Running really short on time, I ended up with a flowy blouse that reminds me of Deborah and which makes me happy because I have nothing like this in my wardrobe, long tube skirt that I will wear only with things that cover my derriere and - my favorite item - a long coat/sweater. I can't find the blouse on the Zara site, but today I learned how to link photos from websites (thanks for the instructions Greg!) I seriously thought about trying to change in the taxi, like in the movies, but I changed in the ladies room at the Plaza hotel and enjoyed a festive evening.
All Zara items, with my 2nd Aimee Kestenberg backpack in red -- obviously not the accessory I would have chosen given any notice on this outfit! I will add a cami next time.
Haven't posted in forever, but always looking and loving what everyone is wearing.
