Several people asked me to help find them hats, fascinators, and other headpieces for the YLF ball. So post your dresses here and I’ll find one for you!
You're holding a fascinator clinic! How cool is that?
Angie suggested a Bjork-inspired swan arrangement to accompany this snowflake dress. I'm wondering whether an ice tiara might also work. What do you think?

Rachy: fun! I tried to find some things for you that evoked the rococo/Marie Antoinette look without going too costumey....
#1 is a hairstyle not technically a headpiece, but I think modern Marie would definitely have a pink and lavender wig. And #2 is I think a good mix of modern and rococo.

Oh thanks Diana! The white one is pretty amazing, but I'm leaning towards the black for the minimal mystique. And because I could get it fitted with prescription lenses
The second one you found for Approprio looks like a black swan, perhaps a sly reference to past uses of birds in hats?
Here’s my ball gown. I’m thinking of a black feather wrap.
I wish I would’ve known to ask you for real before the outdoor wedding I went to last summer. The dress I wore was a Maggy London fit n flare, similar to these, a light background with deep blue/purple flowers on the bottom and dark red on top, both fading to pale at the waist. http://www.maggylondon.com/coo.....are-2d42c1 https://www.lyst.com/clothing/.....ream-pink/

Back home from Christmas Eve celebrations and ready to grant more fascinator wishes!
First off, Sterling. You asked for something magnificent and dramatic, so how about this lovely, swooping asymmetrical teal number? (In keeping with your preferred color palette, I think it would be great in navy and black too!)

And for Fashiontern: that red gown definitely needs some dramatic red flowers, with a bit of flamenco influence, plus black feathers to go iwth your wrap.

I've not found the dress yet but know what I want...a gown of dove colored cashmere with pearls covering the bodice with a sheer silk over layer, also in dove grey or white. I want to be a snow queen with layers and textures.
Any ideas for a fascinators or maybe a feathery hood?
Joy: I hope you find that dress, it sounds heavenly! How about this piece with soft feathers and vintage lace? And I think you might need the coat too!

What a fun project! Diana, your creativity is amazing!
Unfortunately, I have no picture to post, but as I wrote in a comment to Angie's blog post about the bold and the beautiful, I would like a gown similar to hers, but in violet and without a train, but with other interesting details at the hemline. White pearls and white fur wrap would be perfect for me too. My clutch and pumps would be silver.
OH Diana -- I LOVE my fascinator. It is PERFECT in so many ways!!!! Even in how I would prefer to wear it. I never stopped to think how fascinators were attached to the head. The band is PERFECT for me.
I love it so much!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
I am enjoying your topic although I have not come up with a ball gown for myself, not even as a fantasy
Your choices of fascinators are on the spot for everyone! So much fun!
Enjoy the holiday!
