This is my one and only contribution to the challenge but I have enjoyed it immensely as a spectator.

Thankyou Ornelia and all those who posted pix.

This is my visual pun. I wanted a symbol of the spiral, hence the bike, and the colours are a sine qua non.

I did wear this outfit earlier this week but it was very likely a farewell outing for my old white bootcuts. They are a bit squeezy these days and I am tired of the bootcut fit.

I found this skirt with circles while thrifting this week and couldn't wait to use it for today's look. To me the circles represent the spiral on the poster. What is so much fun about this is that several weeks ago I found the matching sweater that has the black trim with the same circles...Both by Ann Taylor Loft. In brand new condition and only $2.50 each!!!!!

This has been such a fun week and I haven't been commenting as much as I would like to but time is an issue.. Homeschooling, blogging, upping my exercise, spring cleaning and spending time with neglected friendships have made for a super busy week.. More of the same next week and the week after but not complaining catching up with friends is good for the soul and homeschooling these past two years has really changed my free time to a full time job, but wouldn't change it for anything!

I actually wore this Thursday while tending to a sick kiddo. Then I was looking at the challenge for Friday and realized that it fit just fine. "The poster is busier" said my husband, so I added in circle earrings (for the spiral) and a big pendant to up the busy-ness.

This challenge has been so completely fun! Thank you Ornella for organizing it!

Vertigo! Dizzy Dizzy dress, with red jacket to capture the colors of the poster.

(note; my 11 year old critic has already pointed out that the boots were frumpy with this, but hey, it snowed again yesterday) hanging head, I will do better next time

I checked out the film for costume and found that the leading lady wore a dove grey suit. i considered a dove grey look but it wouldn't have been 'strict' like a suit so I settled for this! Cannot wait to see what you others post today

This was the most fun for me, although I would not actually wear this outfit as is. I do sometimes wear this skirt for Friday night dinners though!

The colors of the skirt match the poster, and the roses make me think of glasses of red wine, which fit with the dizzy theme.
The shoes are high (for me) heels and I feel a bit vertiginous in them. They are thrifted vintage pumps and I think they look like something Kim Novack might have worn in the movie.
The goofy expressions are my attempt to look nervous and sneaky.
The hat is my nod to James Stewart - I must admit I identify with his character more than Kim Novack's.

Thank you so much Ornella - this is the first challenge I have finished and it was so much fun doing and seeing everyone's interpretation!

Good morning from Norway (Jayne, you are up earlier than me, obviously:) You all have glorious interpretations of the theme, ladies! I don't have time for detailed comments right now - will try to be back later. I'm looking forward to seeing all the interpretations today, too. This has been incredibly fun, every single day. Thank you again, Ornella, for taking the time to organize this and follow through with the flags flying.

Here's my contribution to the Vertigo theme:
This time, I've only taken into account the graphic elements, not the theme. I thought the colors and the contrasts are the most streaking feature of this poster. An additional element is the imbalance provided by the spiral. Hence I made an outfit with strong contrasts, in white, black and red, and I also tried to achieve an element of imbalance by placing the lightest element at the bottom, and the most eye-catching color, red, is on my feet (shoes) or as a frame (the coat).

White jeans, black lace shell, black blazer and red patent flats are the indoors outfit today. When I leave the house, I will change into black booties, red coat - unfortunately it snows again, so I will be needing a scarf, too. I will probably wear my light grey jersey wrap. If the outfit doesn't make me dizzy, seeing new snow certainly does.

Having some fun while the kids are asleep, so I'm posting this Vertigo challenge a little early because I won't have time tomorrow morning. I decided to do two outfits channeling both Madeline and Judy, since the dual persona was a major plot point in the movie. I wore a grey suit with white blouse and black heels with pulled back hair just like Madeline, and for Judy I wore a emerald green sweater with emerald green polka dot blouse. Since I didn't have a green sweaterdress, I wore a blue skirt and shoes, and wore a blue and green "dot" bracelet to tie the two colors together and echo the blouse. And then I also did a Vertigo MOTG version inspired by the movie poster, wearing red, white and black, with a dress that has somewhat dizzying striped pattern, and a clutch that echoes the colors and also the circles of the poster.

Thank you so much Ornella for spearheading this challenge...I had so much fun getting creative with these movie themes! And thanks to everyone else for looking and commenting, and also for inspiring me with your own fab versions! I love how there are so many unique interpretations of the themes, all reflecting our own personal style!

Once again loving all the interpretations so far. I love this movie (how can you NOT love Jimmy Stewart??) but decided to take inspiration from the amazing poster. I could have come up with a dozen or so but it's Casual Friday so that threw some constraints into it.
I found this fab circle print top yesterday so I ditched my original red stripe jacket and black jeans idea. Poopped it on over striped tee and voila VERTIGO.

Bl@ck @nd white. @ND red. This poster kills them @ll. Simple, but busy - you c@nnot hide @ m@sterpiece.

It would h@ve been foolish oversight of me to @void the obvious clues, when there is so much evidence of my connection to them. In the fin@l scene, I h@d to demonstr@te a lot of self-control, you know I'm obsessed by these colors.

During tod@y's photo shooting, the body of my outfit w@s the usual suspect - my LBD, with red swe@ter hiding under it. The hose were jailhouse inspired striped bl@ck ones, to pl@y with your vision @nd s@nity even more. The striped scarf w@s misused to create the psychedelic swirl @nd I had tightened it @round my delicate neck sever@l times to expose @s many stripes @s possible, then left the loose ends h@ng over the shoulder. The circul@r pattern bracelet cuts into my wrist.

The detectives in you have one shot @t guessing wh@t's on my he@d. What's the verdict? Don't be misle@d. I have not committed @ny f@shion crime. Wh@t @ppe@rs @s @ h@ir pin @ttempting to squ@sh the unruly b@ngs is not what it seems. It's a tiny d@gger. @nd, those @re not red rhinestones, no, no, but @ctual drops of blood…

I was inspired by the colors and hope that the pattern of this top might work for the vertigo sensation. The silly pose is another attempt. I will try to wear this today with black Gap Always Straights as the white cotton jacket with the leather pants looks seasonally confused (vertigo?)

Wow, color inspired outfits, and Ornell@@@@@, You drived me nuts!!!:-) I almost got the vertigo reading your post:-))

Here is mine. I went for Madelaine too, but not all grey (like Nathalie) cuz it was too sunny in the morning for that. So I combined my grey swingy midi with a bit of red and white (top, cardi and bag) inspired from the poster and a swirly scarf (swirly enough for me to quickly faint seeing all your gorgeous outfits already posted- but an animal IRL:-)).
I put on some horridly frumpy tan knee highs under the midi, just for driving(it was cold in the morning) but assure you they came off once in the office:-)

Pictie nr 5 is for showing some blood drops on my hands(my assorted to theme red rings) and the lethal weapon:-))
Oh, and already know you ALL love my "vertigo"picties:-)

Here's my pic for today, I've put a couple more pics in my thread.
I based the colours loosely on the ones in the poster as I chose a coral tone instead of red. I contrasted with white jeans and my new Oxfords. I'll pop back later for a proper look at everyones pics as I'm posting and running.

The poster's colours were the main inspiration for this variation of an outfit I've worn before. But I have to admit I am not really wearing it today. Freezing rain and I need to be cozy to get some work done, so it's back to jeans and a sweater for me!

With this outfit, it's really the accessories that speak. Especially my spiral bracelet (echoing the spirograph images and the sense of being pulled into a vortex). And my pearl, cora, and jetl necklace, with its combination of dark and light elements and its smooth and jagged edges. Not to mention the fact that it is magnetic.

The skirt is reversible, two personalities in one--a la Madeleine and Judy!

I feel a little conspicuous in this outfit. I wanted to try some bold pattern-mixing, and I'm hoping it works! Second photo was another version I tried, with a maxi skirt in black with white running through it. I felt it was a little sedate, but something I would more typically wear..

This is the poster that I've been looking forward to all week! My closet is full of Vertigo-inducing things.

I thought my black and grey circle print skirt was absolutely perfect for this challenge. I paired it with a red top and my red trench to get the color scheme from the poster. Because pattern mixing seems to induce vertigo in many people, I did some of that as well by adding a polka dotted layering tee under the red top. The laces on my boots and coat add more patterns of crisscrossing lines. Finally, I added a pile of circle chain bracelets, which overlap with each other like the circles on the poster.

I thought it was appropriate that my attempt at trying to pose like the figure on the poster came out blurry and trippy.
