Suz :: Yes, Yes, Yes - you showcase another side of inspiration. So clever and interesting. Fabulous outfit.

Sarah A :: Great interpretation: in spirit of the poster *and* practical for your life and daily schedule.

Joy :: too fun to bring out spiderweb to the forefront of your fab outfit. And the jacket is one of those little gems that will stick with me after this challenge and make me not look at unironed items the same way ever again

Jayne :: I don't know what I love more - your outfit or the juxtaposition of the safari vibe and that snow in the background.

Natalie :: you are one chic Indiana Jones. My favourite must be the snake earrings though.

Diana :: outstanding. The scarf is beautiful.

Sona :: fun, funny and funky. And my word, what a way to discover your hidden talent.

Firecracker :: you are our classy Indiana Jones. I love your outfit.

Angie :: what is ROTLA ?

These outfits are all so fab!
Ornella, I was wondering too but then I realized it's Raiders of the Lost Ark!
AARGH! You all look fantastic! I am so impressed.

Meanwhile I had food poisoning AND fell and gave myself a concussion in our driveway walking down to get the mail in a foot of new snow. So I barely managed to get dressed. I'm going to be a day behind on this challenge!
Thanks Natalie (duh!)

Una :: now that is not the kind of adventurous start of the week we're after here I hope you're better now. I am eagerly awaiting to see you interpretation when you feel better.
Just loving how one theme (or is it a meme?) can have so many manifestations, so different but obviously of a category. Too cool.
Rugged adventurous clothing does not live in my closet so I went with the color theme. Well, I tried to go with the color theme. It was an adventure going into the garden to take the photos. We have 40 mph wind gusts here today and I was almost blown over.

Everyone is doing such a fantastic job with this poster. Love all of the looks.

Here's my outfit! I'm mainly inspired by menswear and colors in this poster. My khaki "slouchy skinnies" with a black leather belt, white shirt and oxfords are the base. To bring an element of the wild into this, I added my leopard scarf. The warm terra cotta background is the inspiration for adding my coral cardigan and the red coat. Subtle gold elements are introduced with gold earrings and wedding ring.

I love seeing everybody's outfits today! My schedule is very busy, so I will try to come back later for more comments.

I don't really have anything rugged/manly/khaki in my wardrobe either, so I went with the colors as much as possible. It was a bit cold for hose and shoes, but I wasn't outside for that long today. I added the jewelry because I felt like the pieces fit well into the theme.

TraceyLiz: you are one SEXY IJ! that is a great look no matter what
Caro and Shevia!: we are twins!
Lyn67: Love the use of the skirt!
Ornella: Looks like you are having fun with this!
Bella: Feminine and just lovely! Inspiration for a later copycat!
Suz: ROFL!
Sarah: finding something to ride a bike must have been an extra challenge!
Joy: Love the spiderweb necklace! That is too cool!.
Natalie: Man, you have alot of fun pieces added in!
Sona: hubba hubba....
Firecracker - that is a most elegant version! Love!
Deb and Ingunn - great use of Red..I may have to go that route for the vertigo challenge!
It is going to be interesting to see how our own styles will help or make the challenges harder for ceratin looks. I suspect I know who will rock Bfast at Tiffany!
I had planned to pair my white jeans with a safari shirt and brown leather. But we got our first thunderstorm of the season last night, and it's very very muddy. Five kids, one puppy and lots of mud made me think white jeans would be quite the foolish choice.

So I went "snake" instead. I was shocked at how many snake items I have - a dress, a top, jeans, alligator-textured sandals....

But the snake is a small part of the movie poster, so I decided to stick to one snake item. The people who see me today are grateful, even if they don't know it.

snake-print teal jeans,
olive utility jacket, buttoned up, as a top
a blue/green necklace to match them
dark boots to bookend my hair.

Amiable, this is one of my favorite outfits on you - that shirt/jacket is a fantastic fit and color! You could belt it for a different look, but it's awesome as is.
Thanks Una! I like it pretty well too. I'd never considered closing this "jacket" until now In the pic, I do want it belted. I'll have to try to figure out how to pull that off.
This is a great premiere day. Loved all the interpretations and what was behind them.
The first thing I remembered was khakis and Indiana Jones dirty digging outfit.
I wanted to incorporate both the khaki feeling and the very practical, hence the jeans and corduroy.
Funnily enough not very far from what I usually wear :o)

This is SO fun! Thanks Ornella for hosting this post.

I love seeing the different interpretations. Suz yours is my favorite so far -- what would I have worn to the premier? Brilliant

I loved the visual interest of the poster so I let that be my inspiration. I threw in a bright orange skirt to up the risk factor this movie evokes. I will post when I get home this evening. Have fun everyone.
Haha, Celia - great pun!! Love your outfit, too.

Ami, I agree with Una - you look super in that jacket/dress.
Astrid, the shorts are so fab on you!! Love you in those colours as well.
Ingunn, you look gorgeous in the coral and red and leopard with the slouchy trousers.
Deb, high five!! We both struggled but we made it. Actually, you did really well -- love the crossbody.
Firecracker - love the snake. Gorgeous textural mix!

deb and Ingunn :: how great to see that red made it to your outfits. deb, you get extra points for braving the wind to take the photo. And Ingunn, terracotta cardigan works like a dream. It's so fun to see what different people get inspired by.

Astrid :: your interpretation is so refreshing. The dark hose is brilliant way to create transitional outfit in this weather. And your bracelets are beautiful.

Amiable :: add me to the chorus of those who love the shirt on you and who think you are too funny. The people who see me today are grateful, even if they don't know it. LOL.

celia :: it's great to see you and now you have a name for your usual outfit - Indiana Jones outfit

So many great interpretations! The snake jewelry and snakeskin is brilliant - Why did it have to be snakes? And I want to have a drink with the woman in Sona's movie, as well!

Like Suz, I had to do some lateral thinking. While I have a brown wool fedora I love, it's purely outdoor wear and not suitable for our spring rains. My non-gear wardrobe is pretty short on safari looks, so I looked at the actual colors in the poster and decided to draw on the orange and green, with a spot of blue (you probably can't seem my blue opal earrings.) My tan Frye boots are my nod to Indie. This shirt and jacket are a color combo I've been meaning to try, and this challenge forced the issue.

I forgot to thank you, Ornella, for bringing this fabulous challenge to the forum! I adore seeing all the various iterations(?) of the theme, truly inspiring. It is impossible to comment on everybody's outfits for me tonight due to work commitments, but I have to mention Suz and Jayne as excellent representatives for each end of the spectrum. I also love so many of the great poses ands story telling in this thread. Well done, all of you!
WOW! What fun. Everyones ideas are so varied, interesting and FAB!

I was surprised at how many different "Safari" type outfits I could have put together. I'm not sure what that says about my style, but I ended up wearing something I would not normally put together but have to say I rather like it a lot and most likely will wear again:)

H&M Jean Jacket
Loft Animal Print Blouse
H&M Straight leg Khaki's
SE Petty Booties
Cole Haan Tote.

Thanks, Ornella, for the fun challenge. I always come away learning that I have a pretty great selection of things in my closet to remix and create outfits with!

I'm loving all these interpretations. Here's mine.
Domaine jeans
Rock and Republic mesh sweater
Gap tee as undershirt
The Sak bag
I had these jeans as one of the outfits when I bought the sweater. This is the first time I've worn a semi-tuck.

I really love this movie! So I enjoyed the chance to copy Indy's leather jacket, boots and rugged pants. The scarf looks like something one might purchase in the bazaar scene, and the purse is Christopher Kon (not related to challenge, just FYI).

Well, it's quite a treat to see so many beautiful pieces resurfacing thanks to today's inspiration.

Nadya :: I really like the play with the colors here. Your jacket is beautiful, and your boots bookending your hair is matchy heaven.

Carole :: I think the fact you have many safari outfits mean you shop wisely and know one of your style comfort zones - although, perhaps, that zone did not have a name until now I especially like seing the denim jacket, but everything else is beautiful - the blouse, boots and pants, how in harmony they are. The bag is the perfect finishing touch.

shedev :: you've nailed two challenges in one outfit: inspiration photo AND Angie's recent formula.

Nicole :: you obviously had a lot of fun creating the outfit. Your jacket in particular is divine, the scarf itself is gorgeous, but your smile is your best accessory.
This is such a fantastic challenge! I love how each and everyone of you managed to add your own personality and fab little touches to these challenge outfits! Such a stylish bunch, WOW!!
What an amazing and eclectic variety of interpretations you fabbers have come up with!

I'm posting my story now (easy access to keyboard at work) to be updated with pics when I get home.

I had to employ lateral thinking much like Suz did. My wardrobe is not swashbuckling enough, and my workplace not casual enough, to pull off straight-up Indiana Jones AND Luke Skywalker the same week. So I decided to pull my inspiration from Indy's alter ego as a professor (even though he doesn't appear as such till the second movie IIRC).

I started with a white shirt rolled up, and some slouchy tweedy pants (Chose this pair because pockets.) Added a knit sweater vest with some equestrian details, and to make it a little more office worthy I added an equestrian scarf too (although if I had laid eyes on hubby's bandana that would have won out).

To top off, for a rainy but cold spring day: my black mid-heeled booties, my old-style trench coat, and a fedora, conveniently battered.

I realized I HAD to braid my hair, to be like Karen Allen--I so loved her bits of the movie. I had recently got back from Nepal when I saw it, and I wanted to BE her. So sad she wasn't in II and III.

OK edited to add pictures at work--I can't straighten them! I'll try again from home. (Maybe I should figure out mobile uploads, I'd post more often on the same month I do the pics I think!)

Wow, I am loving these! Shedev, this might be my fave outfit of yours ever!

Nicole, you look amazing! And wow, you have a great closet.

Carole, I am not surprised at all that you nailed this one.

Nadya, you bring the colors so vividly to life! High five for lateral thinkers.

Ingunn, you are so gracious!

Ornella, you are a gem for doing this. But we knew that already.
Thanks Suz! I like those colors as well. Ornella, it's actually sheer black hose layered over burgundy colored hose, it looked way more red IRL. The bracelets were passed on to me by my mum. I forgot to say, thanks for organizing this! I love all the interpretations so far.
I haven't had time to read through everyone's posts yet (but I am certain you all look fab), and I have to post and run, so it's short and sweet:

I had already ironed my clothes for the week when I read about the challenge, and this is what I had out that was brown/olive and seemed to fit with the theme. I have been wearing my Nordies camo and lace scarf constantly, and it came out to play with this outfit again today.

Pose #2 is just me being goofy and trying to pose like Indiana Jones on the poster - instead I look like I am attempting to dance! At least I did't bare my chest (and thank God for that)!

I love the movie! So I was inspired by the rumpled textures and earthy colors of the poster, as well as the scene of Marion in her bar in Nepal--I love her rough & laid back demeanor. The blue scarf is for a punch of color. & boots for adventures!

Rumpled Linen Blouse: Flax. (Inspired by Indy on the poster, no ironing!)
Kut Jeans: I felt the distressed look was a good fit. Would have liked army green/khaki for color a little better
Brown & Brass Belt: a little leather accent & Inspired by the holster
Blue Scarf: I wanted to pick up the colors in the top right of the poster, and reference Marion's scarf in the bar scene

Since Indiana had such a dislike of snakes, I thought they were the perfect accent pieces:
Silver snake pendant: I made it in the 80s (nod to the move release date)
Silver Snake Scarf Pin: Antique from Iona Scotland I have had for years.
Sebago Seranac Boots. because you cant run away from Nazis in heels!

My photo alley was occupied this am, but I still wanted to contribute. Had to adjust my original idea to the busted a/c, but I feel ok about it.
