A ZILLION thanks to everyone for chiming in! Is it silly that I tossed and turned a bit last night re: this jacket?
Since no one's said the yellow top washes me out, I think I'm going to keep it. Since it's NOT citron, it doesn't feel redundant, and I think Suz and Jem are on the money that it'll fit in better with less wintry items. I'm seeing a springier pencil skirt, bare legs, and my tan booties.
The jacket - WOW. How can I pass on what Angie has deemed the best jacket in my wardrobe?? I will leave those shoulder pads alone; I would be too afraid of ruining the jacket after this. You've finally got me in something 80s!
Suz, Rita, and others that praised the crisp shoulder line - thanks for a bit of new perspective. I wouldn't have thought that the shoulder could have a military influence, but now I see it, esp with the... what IS that leather piece called? A storm flap? Now it feels kind of goth/retro-European military, which I like.
Zap, I hear you on the shoulder pads. I have never, ever bought anything with them that I have not removed, but for some reason I don't hate them with this jacket. Usually, I feel they "float" above my shoulders, shorten my neck, masculnize my frame... for whatever reason, I don't have those concerns here. *shrug* Perhaps most pads are just poorly installed?
