When I read Anne's challenge I immediately thought of Una's thread where Angie had outlined what makes an outfit "so 2014" (same as Angie's link above). I decided to see how many of Angie's points I could throw into an outfit with a few from her blog on spring trends to boot!
#1 and #2 - Irregular outfit juxtapostion (for me wearing open toe shoes with layers is seasonally confused) and wearing classics with trends. Including with cropped top sweater in classic stripes, pastel bag, oversized classic white button front, oversized cropped pants. Attempt at blogger like face in #1. I might have been pushing it with this one, but I had fun putting it together.
#3 I used Angie's example of classics with trends Classic white Salvatore Ferragamo loafers with baggy BF jeans, upscale sweatshirt and clutch as a starting point. I substituted my light blue loafers and a Zara clutch with shoulder strap. For fun I wore my bf jeans a bit more high waisted than usual!
#4, #5 After looking at street shots from fashion week, nothing says 2014 to me more than wearing sneakers with everything. Irregular outfit juxtaposition, oversized with jus (I hope!), and wearing modern classics with trends. I am wearing an oversized classic white button front (same as in the first picture), silk fluid fit harem jeans, with a classic black bag and sneakers!
I didn't mention it's hip to be square or high/low style but with my low priority on figure flattery and my mix of Zara with second hand designer clothing I consider both themes that runs throughout all my outfits. Thanks Anne, this was really a fun challenge!
