#1 Remember the lilac coat from a couple of posts ago? Well no sooner had I decided to sell it than I found a vintage Tiklas (Finnish) windbreaker in lilac! More my style, even if it is not my style at all. I was inspired by Marc Jacob's show to pull out this thrifted a long time ago Marc by Marc Jacob's tote.
#2 What I wore under all of the above. Fringed cashmere sweater not in my best color but goes great with the coat. And fringe!
#3 A bit more subdued - Yohji Yamamoto grey men's coat. This has been in my closet over 10 years.
#4 Shiny! I love this shiny nylon Gershon Bram rain coat but perhaps this was not the day to try out these thrifted Zara shiny joggers. Ah well, nothing ventured...
Sorry for the weird angles and spots on the mirror. Any comments or thoughts welcome as always. Thanks for letting me share my coat obsession!

Oooh, what variety! That lilac windbreaker is brilliant! I love Finnish clothes. Is it from the 80s, do you think? Very cool piece.

I also like the other coats. Love the strong lapels of the Yamamoto.

The shiny raincoat is cool, too, and I can't really tell from the photo that the joggers are also shiny so maybe it was more a textural variation in shines IRL too?

I remember March is the month of rains in Israel...until the rain stops, that is. You are making good use of the season!

Fab selection! I am eyeing some lilac pieces at my local thrift shop, a lilac denim shacket and a cream with lilac window-pane shacket, both for Spring (which only comes in May here). Forward thinking for the win You know coats really are what everybody sees first! So it makes sense to have many. Well that is my reason and I am sticking to it ;).

Oh wow, fantastic that you found a lilac coat that is more up your alley! It looks great on you, and really wonderful with the warm whiskey brown tote. I can see why the Yohji Yamamoto has been a keeper for so long. I like the shiny coat too! Great looks all around.

Love you in lilac. Definitely one of your best colours, and OF COURSE you have just the right bag to wear with it! Windbreakers are better suited to your climate too.

I think that #4 came out wonderfully! KILLER coat, and super fun with the shiny Zara joggers. Fashion forward. Why not!

Thanks everyone! The lilac windbreaker was such a fun and unexpected find - at first I thought it was a bit much for me to wear, but who am I kidding, no one blinked an eye.
Suz - I think you may be right about the date - there are small shoulder pads built in. Might be early 90s. I am no expert on Finnish vintage .
Star - I agree with you completely about coats! Especially if you walk around a lot as I do.

You can never have too many coats and jackets! Sometime when you have a moment, you should give YLF a tour of your enviable closet :). That vintage Finnish coat is fascinating! I'm intrigued by the print on it and the high-low hem. Love that fringed sweater on you (color looks lovely to me), the YY pinstriped coat is fabulous, and that quilted, shiny GB coat is all kinds of awesome! I think it looks great with the joggers. I just bought a secondhand shiny nylon tote (in navy) that I am enjoying carrying--I love the contrast of the shine with more matte, wintery fabrics. Variations in texture FTW!

Jonesy I deeply appreciate your appreciation for the details! Yes shiny is a fun texture (is it a texture?). It probably just overwhelmed me in the photo. The windbreaker is really oversized and I imagine it floating like a sail in the wind.

Carol Yes the print on the coat almost seems painted. I have tried to find something similar online but haven't yet. I will look harder, I am really curious about it too.

I am glad you found the lilac Finnish rain jacket. It looks made for you. The shiny coat is also special. YLF convinced me that a big coat wardrobe is fine and a good idea. I am looking now for a white puffer coat. Good for standing out in a sea of black. I had one but gave it away.

Our cold weather is just beginning. Puffers will be worn into May. We tend to get the most snow in April. That is winter coat and boot weather.
