Pass on the grey. It is not a color you favor and may sit in your closet because of that.

I vote “no”. It is a very cute picture.
So sad it doesn’t come in white!

Oooh, it's so cute but you've weaned me off gray haha!! I will say though that I love gray with white, which you have tons of, so I could see you styling this in a really crisp way with some white and bright pieces. If anyone can make it work it's you - and a teachable moment for the rest of us on how to make a less-than-ideal colour work - so I'm tempted to say give it a go!

Bob Barker and Mr Skunky say YES YES YES!

I guess I want some clarity on the grey issue — is it a matter of flattery or more that it’s just not a happy color for you? Because honestly I can’t say navy blue is a happy color for me (ie, I don’t get excited about navy blue), but it is useful as a neutral and is flattering enough. So I wear navy blue because it plays well with the rest of my wardrobe and is useful — and a fun graphic on navy would sway me into a possible purchase. Am I missing something here?

Color, for me, overshadows desired message. I detest grey on me. Like you it does not make me happy, and several years ago, I discovered it made me actually UNHAPPY. I got rid of every gray item in my wardrobe and have not added one thing. I vote, wait for the right color with the right message.

Hmmm......I'm trying not to buy gray as well. BUT, it's a dog sweater! And if anyone knows how to make a colour work for them, it's Angie. I'm certain that your trained eye will tell you what to do. Just please, please, please don't buy the cat sweater.

Thanks, ladies! I appreciate your opinions, and found them awfully interesting.

Janet, you make perfect sense. Although, navy for me is a happy colour too....

UPDATE:
I'm too curious...... I HAVE TO see it and try it on. I've ordered it! Personally, I love the graphic, although it might not be your cuppa tea. The grey might look very different with my red specs. That said, I am very good at listening to my feelings and intuition. If the grey looks and feels off when I style it in outfits, I will return it without hesitation.

I know it’s hard to decide based on online photographs, at least for me.
Much easier to make a decision once you have it in front of you.
Good luck!

I think it’s a good idea to try it on, at least! Sometimes the right styling makes me warm to a color I normally avoid.

I love grey and its super cute so I hope you love it!

Yay! it's perfect and I think you are definitely up to the challenge of making gray work.

Only just back from work. Today’s blog says you changed your mind on PPL so I thought you might change it on grey too, so I voted yay

That pale grey goes well with colors and you can always add a scarf. If it is covered with a citron coat and tomato scarf with your bright yellow high tops for dog walking it won’t even be seen.

Give it a try! You can always jazz it up with a colorful scarf.

I love the design and the fish and chips one too. Fingers crossed Angie!

Hmm. So does the pouch have dog on one side and cat on the other?

Wow. I was off working for a few hours and look what happened! I can't wait to see how you feel about it in person...and oh oh, I think I need the NOT GREY "Cat Person" sweatshirt now!! (I am also a dog person AND a grey person so I could go in that direction, but Max would be seriously offended.)

You couldn't pull some strings and request it come in a brighter colour ?

If you can return, you have nothing to lose. I suggest to try it !

I hope it works out for you, Angie. I’m in the ‘yay’ camp. Even if the colour doesn’t make you happy, the graphic does, and I think you can wear pale grey quite well.

I love grey us blondes, and a proud dog person like you are should own one sweater like that!:-) I'm surely you'll find a way to integrate into your colors and style. I use light grey in deep winters instead/when I tend to find bright white too harsh to my other deep neutrals. In your case I would pair it exactly with that, bright white or generally big amount of any whites possible(jeans, cigarette pants and booties). Top it with a bright coat (pink, red, turquoise) and add another bright accent for the bag --you do have in your wardrobe. Keep us posting.

I love the design and the sentiment and hope you can make the grey work! I wish they made a version for men. The big surprise of getting our dog has been the way that my husband -- NOT a dog person or even an animal person at all -- has fallen head over heels in love with her. It's so heartwarming I tease him about unexpectedly becoming a dog person all the time.

Joy, what is the point of purchasing a (supposedly fun) graphic tee and then COVERING it with other items so that "it won't even be seen"?!?

The thing I like about graphic tops with blazers and jackets is that you *can* see at least part of the graphic peeking through. I also think it could be really cute on you with a small bright scarf in your colors wrapped at the neck, so the graphic shows below. I'm glad you're trying it!

Angie, I agree absolutely, always try, why not, and if it doesn't work return. I like top and I am sure you will style it perfect. Cross the fingers.

I voted nay, since I have a very long history of buying tops and dresses that are PERFECT in every way except one. And that one thing is always an issue to be negotiated every time I wear it, whether it's mitigating the color, dealing with a less-than-ideal length (top, skirt, sleeve), having to wear a belt even though nothing I have is perfect, etc. They don't turn into pieces that I can just reach for easily. And color, on something by my face, is one of my biggest hesitations. Layering items like scarves and jackets for me usually ends up covering the other things I like the item for.

But all that said, I'm glad you're going to try it. You're very disciplined about returning what doesn't work, and you will give it a fair trial.

I missed this earlier - I vote yes! I love gray, it goes with everything. I bet it would look wonderful with all your bright colors.

Thank you for bringing this sweater to our attention. I’ve already ordered it as a Christmas gift for the dog lover in my life. She is going to love it. The graphic even looks like her dog (my granddog!)
