Fourteen years ago, I sewed this costume and an identical one for my then six year old daughter. It took me so many hundreds of hours to make that even after 14 years I can't bear to purge them. Luckily my church has many old Xena Warrior Princess fans, so my costume was recognized. I will probably be given blank looks this Thursday as I hand out candy! This was supposed to be the last Halloween for this costume, but the cost per wear is still so high in sweat that I'm thinking of trotting it out in another five years so I can do Xena at 65. OTOH, if I find a short mom about my size (P2/4) with a daughter who will be about size 6 at Halloween, I think this costume and its numerous parts will have found a new home. Can you see that I am wearing fake OTK boots fastened with velcro at the back? They, the arm stuff, and two layers of stockings kept me warm.
