W(we)W: First day of school - YouLookFab Forum

It has been a crazy few weeks in the L household. My five yr old (H) started kindergarten 2 weeks ago and my 2 1/2 year old (M) started a mothers day out program a week ago. I've been an emotional mess with sending my babies off to school.

My younger daughter, who is my adventurous, fearless one, cried and cried when I dropped her off for the first time. Uggghhh. It was horrible, but luckily only lasted for about 5 minutes after I left (or rather, after my husband forced me to leave!).

1. This dress is one of my favorite summer dresses. It's from Loft. I threw on the gold belt at the last minute. Hopefully, it's not too much. Wearing white after Labor Day since the highs are still in the 90s here.

2. H's first day of school. Her style rubric consists of pink and dresses or skirts.

3. M's first day of school. Her style rubric consists of picking out the opposite of what I want her to wear.

Tomorrow is week 2 of school for M. I'm hoping it will be less tearful and traumatic (for both her and me Thanks for looking!

What adorable littel ones! It is hard dropping off that first time, but you know it will get better. You all look lovely, and you have some crazy amazing legs to show off!

Wow the girls are gorgeous and take after their mum:). Your outfit looks lovely. Fresh and well put together. I feel for you but it does get easier, in fact dare I say sometimes it's Acura.ly quite nice to "drop them off":)

All three of you look so cute together and so stylish! Easy and breezy! Your girls are so sweet and adorable! I too have kids who just started K and preschool too and I know the transition is tougher on us than on them. Hopefully it'll get easier soon! I'm sure they'll have a blast!

And LOL about your daughter's rubric! Mine is the same way--stubborn and fiercely independent! Your daughter has a great sense of style already!

Thank you, ladies! My girls definitely have their own sense of fashion and are not afraid to express it. My 2 yr old is an expert at pattern mixing and bold color mixing. Lol.

All three of you are goregous. I had to laugh at your comment on M's rubic. My daughter, J, is 2.5 and has strong opinions on what she wants to wear. A few weeks ago, she went to church in a cotton sun dress and black rubber boots - she insisted that her boots matched the dress, and as I told the hubby "Some battles aren't worth fighting."

Kimlee, Totally agree about picking your battles. Maybe J can get together with M and have a fashion show. LOL.

M cried when I dropped her off today but apparently it only lasted for a couple of minutes. She was all smiles when I picked her up. It will get better, it will get better, it will get better .... my mantra for the day!
