Last night my husband was sworn in as the new fire chief in our home town. This was the fulfillment of a life long dream for him. He started out as a part-time firefighter 20 years ago and rose up through the ranks while continuing a corporate career. Last week he retired from his corporate job to take over as fire chief.
My daughter and I coordinated our outfits to highlight his new career and to survive a swearing in ceremony in a very crowded and lightly air-conditioned city council chamber!
For me: Angie's formula of a dress and sandals. A red Old Navy linen cocoon dress with rose gold sandals and gold jewelry.
For my daughter: Something that would survive a day at work and a long train commute. The Lush crepe v-neck blouse in cordovan and the Kut from the Kloth Diana skinnies. Both from NAS.
For the new chief: an awful lot of gold braid!
