WSIW: Event tonight

Dear fabbers, I need your help. I have an event tonight, the CASA appreciation dinner. It's kind of dressy for this town - men actually wear ties.

I have this navy EF wrap dress and choice of a few "toppers", and two different pairs of shoes.

I want to wear the dress. Which topper and which shoes should I wear?

Choices:
Tweed jacket, paisley scarf, Istanbul skyline scarf.
Aquatalia navy suede shoes, Paul Green metallic shoes.

The Aquatalia shoes were from Nordstrom Rack. The Paul Green shoes feel amazing. I wish I had known about them years ago.

Pic #3 looks much more festive than does the first. Both the dress and the paisley scarf are really nice! Istanbul scarf is beautiful as well but I think it wouldn't be as cohesive as the patterned scarf.

love the dress...I'm leaning towards #3, but #1 looks good as well- and projects very business like if that's what you are going for.

I'm especially fond of #3. It looks lovely and arty.

#1 also looks dressy, but more corporate. Depends on the look you want.

I like #3 better, more festive, less conservative - but I have no idea what a CASA appreciation dinner might be and if you need to go conservative or festive...

Gosh, I love 3. It's so elegant and festive. I like 1 but it definitely looks more business-y. You can't go wrong with either!

I love all options, but agree that 1 looks a bit more business, although I must say I love that jacket. Number 3 with the paisley scarf and Paul Green shoes is a wonderful choice.

Hey, thanks everyone. #3 has overwhelming support, so #3 it is.

Skylurker, CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASAs are volunteers who work with children in foster care. Our main job is to report to the judge at the semiannual court hearings. We give another viewpoint, separate from social workers, therapists, and lawyers. In order to give a full and accurate report, we have to get to know the children we are assigned to. I've taken my children out to lunch, on picnics, ice skating, birding, to the dog park, and gone to their various sports events (volleyball, football, baseball, basketball and soccer) and music recitals. I only have one child now, but I've known him for nearly six years. He ages out this winter.

I was also thinking that it depends on what type of look you want. I can't quite tell on my phone if the jacket material in #1 is dressy or not. Assuming it is not, it looks very nice but more business. #3 looks artsy. And I think #2 looks good. Adding the metallic shoes to #2 would "fancy" it up.

If you haven't been before I would ask if it's more nice business or more festive/party.

I'm late to the party, but #3 was my pick. Love it! #1 is not festive enough. CASA is a wonderful program - thank you for engaging. My dear friend and hairstylist (sadly now retired) worked with Big Brothers and a relationship that lasted over the years. I know how intensely emotional, hard and rewarding these types of volunteer efforts can be.

Wow- love both looks and glad you went with number three for a festive event. Our DD has started her CASA volunteer training this week- glad you found it so worthwhile over time. It seems a good way to help fill gaps in young people's lives.
