Would you consider these worn out?

I am wondering if these are worn out, getting there, or can still be used for a few more wears.

I'm thinking I might be able to get one more summer out of them, but feel ambivalent about it.

I have worn these for 3 months a year, indoors for the most part. Almost no outdoor walking, but lots of driving.

I don't think of myself as polished. I'm sort of right in the middle between polished and Rough Around The Edges (RATE).

I'm thinking that they are done. I see you as being more polished than this. But they might see you through the last of Summer, unless you have a replacement already on hand.

It seems to me that the wear is mostly around the sole, not on the upper shoe, so it is less likely to be noticed by the observers. If you still like the shoes, I would keep them for the next summer. However, it may happen that the next summer you will find something you like much more and then get rid of these immediately, since it doesn't sound like you are in love with them anymore.

Nice sandals Smittie! Driving is so hard on footwear. I tend to agree with Tanya. Observers would not notice the wear (at least I would not) so there looks like there are a few more wears left.

The wear at the front edge is pretty noticeable - at least to me. I'd let them go.

The uppers look kind of dry. If you had some leather conditioner, it would make them look newer.

I think they are getting there, I would hold on to them until I found a suitable replacement.

I'm not especially RATE, but if I wanted more everyday use from these, would ask CindySmith for suggestions on apocalypsing these for an intentional look that would work with your style.

I like the cork, and would probably holding-zone these for situations like beach weddings, or events on a soft lawn, or graveside services (those where skin-tone footwear is acceptable), or anywhere you want to look dressed yet not worry about damaging nice shoes.

Am a bit of a shoe-maintenance freak, so feel that catching wear early often extends the life and attractiveness of footwear by a lot.

Tanya, I actually love these sandals! They "look good on the foot".

The collective wisdom sort of mirrors my own thoughts which are sort of between "time for new ones" and "getting there".

I think I'll have to look for a replacement next year.

I'm with Scarlet. Get those last couple of wears in for the summer and bid them adieu, as long as you have a good replacement for them.

I would try leather conditioner. Could they be resoled?
Otherwise, love them for the rest of the summer and put it on your summer refresh list.

The apocalyptic idea is cool. If you go the leather conditioner route instead, I'd also ask for products to repair cork at the home improvements store. They have putty and markers for other types of wood, so why not for cork as well?

Before reading any comments I thought that you should let them go. I am with Lisap in that the wear on the front edge bothers me, and after 6 years you have had great use out of them. For me also, I would vacillate between chuck now at end of summer so that I'm forced to get a new pair next year, or store over winter so I can make sure that I don't chuck until I have the replacement in my hot little hand!

Jenni, these shoes will be tough to replace and I don't feel good letting them go without a replacement
I don't need the cork or the wedge but do need the nude/tan colour and strapiness.

Yes sometimes beloved shoes are hard to replace. I can't find replacements for my red sandals 2009 or orange sandals 2013 yet. For the red I have even checked US sites like DSW and Zappos. Nothing is dainty or pretty enough.

I feel like these are a little worn, and I know that I would feel less than amazing wearing them. I was going to suggest taking them to a cobbler to see if something could be done to fix the wear, but it looks like you are content to buy a similar pair and do not have to have this exact pair.

You could also search ebay or Poshmark to see if someone has a gently used pair in your size that they are selling.

It's very subjective, isn't it? I don't mind the scraping in front (could probably be covered by polish) but the heels are worn out in my eyes.

Try ebay. We can`t use Poshmark in Canada. I have found my favourite Paige jeans on ebay (which they don`t make anymore). My jeans are brand new and 1/3 of the price!

Well, I was about to say I'd go right on wearing these, until I saw the front edge wear. That's the only bit I think would be noticeable from where people's eyes usually are when looking at your shoes. As Marie Kondo would say, thank them for their service and let them go.
