Catching up on my outfit posts from the last couple of weeks.... it's been quite cold and wintry here so there's lots of layers, handknits, and outerwear. And not a puffer in sight!
I apologize for the poor photo quality in some of these... the winter light in my photo spot is poor, which results in blurry, dark photos. =(
1-3: Burgundy and plaid. This outfit is actually from last year (Dec. 31)! We didn't actually go out for NYE in the evening, but I wore this to brunch and some shopping, etc in the afternoon. Although the red top here looks nice, I remembered why I hadn't worn it for ages - it keeps trying to ride up/back and exposes my midriff, which is super annoying. The cut just does not work for me. It's in the donate pile now...
(Max&Mia jacket, Michael Stars top, Joe's bootcuts, Pikolinos booties, Kenneth Cole coat, handknit scarf + hat, Via Spiga handbag)
4-5: Pattern mixing with a handknit pullover over a striped tunic. With my Burberry coat, cashmere blanket scarf, and handknit accessories for outdoors.
(handknit pullover, hat, mittens, Nordstrom (one of the house brands) tunic, CoH skinnies, Frye boots, Burberry coat, MZ Wallace bag)
6: Wore this for my husband's "holiday" party (last Friday). I went to work that day as well so needed something I could wear all day and commute in the cold in. Under the skirt, I have some heattech leggings, wool socks, and OTK boots, which turned out to be very warm! I wore the same outerwear as in #5 with it.
(Uniqlo sweater and leggings, Nanette Lepore skirt, CK boots, AT necklace, ??? wristlet).
7: This is what I wore for the YLF meetup on Saturday. It's a terrible picture, and I think looked much better IRL. Anyway, this is the new Free People burgundy peplum jacket - I had the tailor add a buttonhole, although I'm not wearing it buttoned here. There's a picture of the outerwear in Chris' post about the meetup, but it's basically just the grey burberry yet again. After tramping all about Newbury Street in the snow, I can say for sure that these suede Blondos are truly waterproof!
(Free People jacket, Soprano tunic, CoH skinnies, Blondo boots, MZ Wallace bag).
8: Snapped a quick outerwear selfie this morning to show Angie how I keep warm without a puffer in 15ºF weather today! Basically a lot of layers of wool - there's a big handknit wool pullover + a long sleeved tee under the coat, along with a big blanket scarf and handknit accessories.
