I continue with my Dark Romance theme. After last week of purple &green, I was in mood for a change so this week was all about burgundy. Here are four outfits: the first one was worn earlier in the week for casual errands, the next two for the office, and the final one yesterday for a doctors appointment. I am more than happy wearing the same coat three days in a row, but won't do the same for shoes. Also wore the same watch with burgundy leather strap for all the outfits. The first and third include some OBG items.
Outfit #1 (1-2): The OBG items here are the old cropped black sweater with faux fur texture and the lined burgundy Converse. I have had the sweater for probably close to 10 years. They were combined with cropped kick flare coated burgundy jeans, short burgundy puffer and burgundy cross body. After I got dressed, I realized that I strongly dislike the gap between pants and sneakers since the black socks were showing. These jeans are usually worn with higher shaft booties. I was in a hurry and did not have time to change, but I cringed the whole time so not doing this pant and shoe combo again.
Outfit #2 (3-5): I was going for Gothic theme of black velvet with a touch burgundy look for both work outfits. This one is based on black velvet suit that is not smooth velvet, but has snakeskin texture. It was combined with cream silk blouse with a little cutout, edgy black booties and burgundy wrap midi coat. I got this coat in the fall 2022 and it is already a workhorse.
Outfit #3 (6-7): More Gothic theme, this time built around black two piece dress consisting of slip skirt and tie-neck top, with tall burgundy lace-up boots and ancient burgundy suede moto. The moto is the OBG piece, I suspect it is also close ~10 years old. Both the moto and the sweater from #1 are good examples for a certain category in my wardrobe: items that don' get worn much within the year (probably 5 -7 times), but are worn throughout many years so in the end they more than earn their keep.
Outfit #4 (8-9): I was in the mood for something more contemporary so out came the ME+EM houndstooth pants (which have fun side slits not visible in my photos, but you can see in stock photo, #11) combined with black faux-leather H&M shirt, that is a knockoff of an Alexander Wang (AW) shirt (#10) that was out of my budget. I completed the look with AW booties, the only item I own from the said designer, and the same burgundy coat.
