WIWx3: Simple weekend outfits

Here are three very simple outfits I wore this weekend.

The first one was worn on Saturday to go to a local chocolate place with a friend. It consist of white Loft eyelet dress toughened up a little with taupe stacked heel BCBGeneration gladiator sandals.

The second one was worn on Saturday evening for social dancing - I haven't posted a dance outfit in a long time. This one consists of old drapey blue-grey Bebe tunic and slim black bootcut pants.

The third outfit was worn today to run a bunch of errands. It consists of navy/pink BR halter top, navy pinstripe slouchy Gap shorts, and bone studded Luxury Rebel gladiator sandals.

Do you often wear trousers for dance? I thought it would be dresses and skirts always.

Suz, the choice of trousers vs. skirt/dress for dancing depends on my choice of dance footwear. Real dance shoes have high heels (like in my avatar photo) and can thus hurt after hours of social dancing. The alternative are dance sneakers which are super comfy, but big, black and clunky and only look good with bootcut black trousers that partially cover them. For really important dances/when I want to dress up I will wear the heels with skirt/dress, but if my feet hurt which they often do I will wear dance sneakers, black pants and pretty top.

All three are stunning, Tanya. I am smitten with the white dress and gladiators on you. The others are just as fab, though; the dance outfit has a goddess-like appeal, and I love the juxtaposition of the feminine halter top with the menswear-inspired trouser shorts in the third outfit. I think I fall for every outfit you wear with those Luxury Rebel sandals, don't I?

Firecracker, I love those sandals too, so much the my other sandals get very little wear. They are very comfy too.

Una, I don't know whether I was brave or silly, but decided to take the risk as I really felt like wearing the white dress. It helps that I was going straight to the dance social afterwards and had my dance outfit with me to change into.

Ledonna, yes to both of those - I love mixing tough and pretty and exposing my shoulders when the occasion is appropriate.

It is fun to read all the positive comments about #3. Shorter shorts are still "taking the stand" items with me, and I think I have just figured out a perfect way do divert attention from them - wear them with a pretty top that highlights shoulders or neck and hope nobody looks at my legs.

These are three lovely outfits Tanya, I'm so happy you're posting regularly again. I love the gladiators with the white eyelet, so pretty. and I hadn't even noticed the shorts were "short" in #3, so you obviously did a great job drawing my eyes up on that one!
