Here is how I styled my vintage silk dress for the 100 degree wedding in Princeton this weekend. I chose my nude shoes and bold gold jewelry and burgundy accessories. Unfortunately the shoes turned out to be somewhat uncomfortable, although I'm sure this had something to do with the fact that it was a million degrees and my feet were swollen and sticking to the shoes, plus there was more standing/walking than I expected, much of it on uneven cobblestones. I took a closeup photo since you guys never see me with makeup on - mascara, eyeshadow, lipstick and tinted powder. No foundation 'cause I think it feels gross, plus it would have just melted anyway, and no blush since it makes me look like a clown.
vintage 80's Liz Claiborne silk dress, Etienne Aigner shoes, ??? bag, handknit shawl (which I did not use at all), gifted magnifying glass pendant necklace, Ariane Arazi cuff.
Bonus photo of WIW today for shopping in NYC in the morning and the bus ride back to boston in the afternoon. Photo was taken after all that, so please forgive my rumpled look! Since Natalie asked about the bird shorts today and I happened to be wearing them when I read her K/R post, I figured I should show the outfit! I started out with the blouse tucked but had a wardrobe malfunction when a button popped off in a fitting room, so after employing my emergency safety pin, I switched it to a tie front look to hide the missing button.
Anthro shorts, Harve Bernard blouse, Naot shoes, H&M bag.
