It's been such a busy couple of days at work that I haven't had time to upload my WIW pics until now. Anyway, yesterday's WIW (#1) features my newest handknit, the sparkly cashmere tunic, and today's (#2) features a couple of my oldest.
Not too much to say about the first one. It's basically almost the same as the first time I wore this tunic, except I swapped out the leggings for my grey jeggings, and the cami for a long-sleeved heattech tee. As you might have gathered, the weather has gone totally frigid again.
Today's outfit is also designed around the goal of not freezing to death. The sweater and knee socks were both knit a few years ago (in my pink phase apparently). I don't wear either all that often. The sweater is a bit too short and tight for my taste now (although I have discovered that I can style it if I treat it as a cropped sweater rather than a regular one), plus it's made of yarn that is super soft, but prone to pilling. And I've discovered in the years since I knit the socks that I don't really enjoy knitting or wearing handknit socks. They are just a little too bulky and textured (in terms of feel, not look) for my taste. (Yes, it is theoretically possible to knit socks at a super tight and fine gauge to get something like commercial ones, but it would be highly unpleasant). I have to admit they are good for cold weather though! I may knit some legwarmers or boot toppers at some point as well, since I really do like the look.
By the way, the tee in the second outfit is actually neon pink, but for some reason is photographing much lighter here. So, no, I am not actually wearing a pastel!
#1: handknit tunic, CoH jeggings, Blondo boots, Uniqlo tee
