WIW...working on an olive capsule

Adding to my olive capsule and have acquired two new items - leather sneakers, and a utility jacket - and they have gone into immediate rotation. The olive chinos are from March of this year and the floral T (a workhorse) from last summer.

#1 black wool jacket - Ann Taylor (thrifted)
Dark floral T - Only and Sons/Winners men's dept
Olive chinos - Dockers
White loafers - Nine West
Seatbelt bag - Harvey's

#2 Olive Utility jacket - BR
Jeans - Levis (v old/hacked by me)
Olive leather sneakers - Joseph Seibel

I really like both of these. Olive is a great color. Until YLF I never would have thought of it as a neutral, but I’ve been schooled on how to wear it with navy, red, pink and black

Wonderful olive capsule. I was disappointed last year when there were not olive accessories to support jeans and coat. Are you finding a plethora of shades of olive from bluish to yellowish to grayish to a greenish brown (breen?). Can you wear the chinos and jacket together?

Joy - the jacket and chinos are a dead match, as are the sneakers. However, I just cannot wear them all together. It would feel like a military uniform. I do not get the sense that olive is available in abundance in B&M, and suspect that it may be more a leftover nod to last year. The jacket actually has S/S 2019 on the label, and the sneakers were the last pair in my size, but brought into the local shoe store early this year according to the SA. I DID see more really dark olive linen and silk or polyester silk items - almost blue/olive, during a recent B&M adventure in the Big City.

I'm keeping fingers crossed that I can source a nice sweater for the fall, and possibly a puffer or puffer vest. In the interim, I will be pairing the tops and topper with white and blue jean bottoms, and the olive bottoms with blues, blush, and black.

I love how the white really freshens things up with the olive and black. Olive is a great colour and so good with red too! You add the best pieces to your wardrobe, perfect for your style and practical for your lifestyle.

Great olive pieces, Carla. You look wonderful in both outfits. You don't leave any retail stone unturned. I need to try the men's and boy's department more often. I find the quality is often superior for tees.
The BR jacket is a great piece. Very versatile.
I have some nice olive pieces from Lululemon that I got a few years ago. They change their colours fairly often so I don't know if they still have olive. I have a tank top, vest, long sleeved tee and a define jacket. They had some hoodies but their hoodies swallow me up.

I love olive and your outfits are stunning! Of course I especially like the shoes! I thought of you when I bought an olive beanie today. I didn’t need it because I already have a cream one and a black one, but I love olive and it was half price...thought I could wear it with my olive pants and olive cardigan. Have seen some olive boots but resisted so far

Wonderful! Love those sneakers. I'm such a sucker for an olive/white combo (my last sneaker addition was also olive/white).

Runcarla, I love the combination of the olive chinos with the white loafers. Definitely stealing that look for myself! Olive is one of my favorite neutrals since black, gray, and navy aren't very flattering on me. My newest olive addition to my wardrobe is a silk Club Monaco jacket, a consignment shop score on a discount.

Be still my heart! Olive is my favorite neutral. Leopard, orange, ivory, navy, mustard, black, purple, even royal blue! You name it, olive can probably work with it! Only problem is, everyone else loves it too, so items sell out! Enjoy your capsule.

Thought of you again 2 days ago! Sabatini, a fab made-in-NZ brand that is also very successful in Australia, had their twice-a-year factory outlet sale and I went in my afternoon off. My main temptation was a beautifully knitted long olive sleeveless vest. It looked good on me too. But only weeks ago I had bought a long olive cardigan, which I am actually wearing right now. I thought 30 wears of each would be difficult to accomplish. So with pangs of regret, but also proud of myself, I left empty-handed. I think the cardigan is more practical and I have enjoyed wearing it today
