Hello all. Back in The Before Times of March '20, I bought this Zara suit to wear to a few upcoming events. Prior to lockdown, I wore (and shared) it exactly once and then it sat in my closet. When events started up again, the pants no longer fit, so I wore dresses instead for the seven weddings (yep, 7) we attended in 2022. With 4 more weddings on our calendar this year I was bound and determined to WEAR THE SUIT, and made healthier eating a priority. I made it to my goal in time for the '23 wedding season!
No photo of me wearing the suit to the May 20th wedding with my black satin shell, but here it is at a reception over the weekend. Wearing it really makes me feel fab.
Wedding #4 will be more country-casual, and I plan to wear the daisy dress and hat in Finds.
Wedding #3 will be a beachside event. I bought this Kimono to wear with the pants, white shell and sandals (which I brought with me to Anthro for the try-on). It's really awesome -- and feel it will work better than the suit jacket for the vibe/venue. It's not my usual look – for sure – but quite confident I can pull it off (but the tags are still on). And if I start wearing it grocery shopping and for happy hour on the patio weekly, the CPW will plummet, right?!
Barring inclement weather, I'm going for it... unless the collective wisdom here gives me reason to rethink this statement piece. What do you think?
