Carol, why thank you! What a lovely compliment <3 I admit, I was simply using what I had and it worked. :} (Definitely need more summer sandals for next year.) Great idea on the necklace!! I did think about it. I’ve been kind of playing with how much glam to wear everyday. I also was just doing stuff around the house, and a necklace felt a little extra for that. One thing mentioned to me is how I can tend to make other women/mothers feel intimidated. I show up dressed to the nines even when dressing causally and that’s enough to alienate a bit. Nothing wrong this of course. It’s who I am. The suggestion was to limit to one accessory and piece of jewelry, and not pile it on. I’m still feeling byway through with that.
Pirouette, thank you, very kind of you <3 It is most annoying. I know there are companies that can recreate cosmetics from a sample. It’s tempting…
Janet, WOW! Thank you so much!! What a glorious compliment! I will keep this in mind, as I do very much love this dress. Cream blushes are so nice, very hydrating in look and feel. I haven’t yet tried them much, other than using a lipstick on my cheeks occasionally. My skin has tended to be oily and cream blushes melt off. But as I age, things shift. So I may have to revisit in the near future!
Lisa (LJP), Thank you!! I am really loving this dress. Did you ever try Three Custom Colors? They custom match discontinued cosmetics. They may already have your discontinued lip gloss on file!
Jaime, I did feel, so, so good. I’m glad I didn’t save it. Stocking up is exactly what I hope to do. Even secondhand, NARS tends to run quite expensive. Thankfully, the old formula is so heavily pigmented it lasts a long time.
Lisa, you might try looking around on eBay, etc. for new blushes being resold. That said, I’m not sure yet what brand to replace NARS' blushes with at this point. MAC has discontinued a lot of products the last 3-4 years too, blushes included. I know there are other good brands out there, it’s just hard to lose such a lovely product that’s been around for 15-20+ years or find something on par with similar colors and formula. Makeup lately has been very challenging to navigate, imo. L’Oreal changed the formula of their mascaras. It's so bad that everyone is mad about the change and has begged for L’Oreal to go back to the old formula. (No idea why they changed it either.) Mascara especially is hard for me; I find one that really works for me and that’s what I use. Anyway... it's been a rip-roaring year for cosmetics.
