WIWW Orange, Navy Brown Combos

After reading Angies great post this morning and the other day reading Clarie's encouragement to post outfits even if we aren't wearing them, I decided to share some of my planned fall outfits. It's 100+ here every day right now so the idea of cooler temps is so enticing and it's fun to think of wearing jackets and blazers. When I bought this "poppy" colored jacket from EB I was hesitant if it would work well for my wardrobe. Suddenly, it seems to be the key to several potential outfits as mixing with navy is just such a natural choice. At least I think. What do you think?

The floral Nordies top still has the tag on. Last night DH suggested belting it low on the hips and with my rectangular shape it worked really well. It's got sort of puffy sleeves and a loose, flowy fit, and that was my main hesitation. I didn't want ot be shapeless in it. Belting it really helped and the stretchy belt is so comfortable at my hips I can't even tell it's there!

It's wonderful to see your outfits! LOVE the orange jacket and it looks great in all versions, both stripes and florals. The floral top looks fab belted - such a clever hubby! I hope you continue to lay out your outfits for us. It's a great solution for anyone who is camera shy.

Thank you for the encouragement and feedback - I'll try to post more - it's a fun exercise to lay out outfits and plan them. I do try them on as well but just don't have someone taking the photos right now. My mirrors are all above waist only and my camera is kind of bulky to do self-portraits but I may in the future. My DH did say this jacket seems like the perfect thing for a gray day and that's exactly why I love it. How can you be less than cheerful when wearing such bright colors, right?

Oh YAY! You did a great job with the *bed* assignment Texstyle! I love all of these because they are such sophisticated "almost matches" KWIM? You have been doing some brilliant brainstorming here. Love that you have a comfy wide belt that you can't even feel. They are the BEST! You will be rocking that orange jacket before too long. Woot!

alaskagirl, I know what you mean about the brown leather with the bold orange and navy - at first I wasn't sure and thought I'd have to choose a navy purse or some other color and then I realized the only shoes I had that would work were brown boots so the purse seemed obvious and I really liked it right away.

Inge, thanks and I DO hope I get a lot of wear out of that jacket. It's totally casual, washable, etc. so there's no reason I shouldn't be able to wear it often.
