On Sunday I got up, threw on an outfit for church and headed out the door feeling less than fab in the pouring rain. The shirt was on its "goodbye" tour b/c it just has never worked for me. See pic - I have the sleeves yanked up too high, the front seems to be too short (although it's a high-low hem and the back is quite long), and the black and white dots aren't doing much for my colouring (paired with black AE jegging jeans, Cole Haan riding boots, and Karen Millen raincoat). Anyhoo I threw on my grey raincoat and headed out the door. Then I thought the black and white dots might be nice paired with some optic white - so gave the shirt one last chance on Monday to go out for a birthday lunch for a friend. I paired it with my Current Elliott white BF jeans, Trouve Vneck sweater, and black Bocage booties. I felt FAB in this outfit (although the front bit of the dotty shirt is a bit twisted in the photo)!!! Realistically some heeled booties or even the black Okalas would have been even better, but I have had these booties for almost a year and have never worn them. The other issue was that the friends I was meeting aren't the tallest people, and when I put on heels I feel like a monster. It was a flats day. What do you think? Did I turn a miss into a hit??? I think I might let the dotty shirt hang around for the summer
