WIW...the second sunny day of spring

Well, I might be exaggerating - but it sure feels like we haven't had a lot of nice days since the start of the season. Today temps hit 15degC and the sun came out after lunch. DH and I went for an urban ramble through the older sections of town in order to admire the stately old homes and gardens full of spring flowers. I wore my new Tilley's Hiker Hat. The brim is 3.5 inches at the front and back and 2.5 inches at the sides. DH said the back covers my neck to the collar of my jacket. It was super light and comfortable, with useful ties. Now I want a light olive utility jacket to match!

FWIW - the hat comes in lots of colours including purple and navy blue. I opted for a light colour because I did find last year's dark (black) straw hat was very warm.

Love your dark floral tee! I got a new sun hat for summer, too, but I bought it last September and still haven't worn it! It's only a matter of time before outdoor activities start ramping up, though.

Gorgeous! I love how the flowers match the pants and the leaves match the hat. You sound like me, wanting to match olive items!
I also like that Canadians use Celsius like us as I can’t understand the Fahrenheit temperatures and I’m too lazy to Google how to change from F to C all the time

You look really great! I’m glad you like the hat. Mine has 2 inches on the sides, and 2 3/4 front and back. I wore it yesterday when we went on an Audubon birding trip. It was 42 first thing, and warmed up to the low 70s (Fahrenheit ). For those temps, I layer: short sleeve tee, lightweight hoodie, Nanopuff vest. I also loosely tie a bandana around my neck. This helps cushion the binocular strap a little more.

ETA: and SPF 50 all over.

Another great outfit, as usual, and now you've got me worried about protecting the back of my neck. I am irresponsible with sunscreen, and forget critical areas like that. This is great hat for walking around.

Fabulous overall and I’m thrilled that things are warming up and it’s beginning to feel like spring. We are still waiting here but I’m hopeful. The hat is a great addition and reminds me to be on top of things with the sun this year.

I don't know what to mention first your outfit overall or your hat! I love the mix of dark florals and khaki - and silver sneakers! I literally wore dark florals with white jeans and silver sneakers a couple of days ago. And I am very happy to see you posting about sun protecting hats. Does this one roll up and retain its shape?

Shevia - instructions say it is machine washable, and it has a lifetime guarantee! It is 98% cotton, 2% Lycra. The brim is quilted and overall it is very soft, but not floppy. I'm not in a hurry to wash it, but if it becomes sweat stained or dirty I will send it through the wash on delicate and dry it over an inverted plastic bowl that I have used to block other hats I have washed (winter tuques).

Such a great look. No doubt warmer weather is on its way. 15C is true winter temps for me and would have me in a puffer or winter coat. The new hat is a lovely fresh olive and a great fit.
