This is me being authentic on a Monday chore day. This green t-shirt with a leaf motif just won’t stay in the ‘donate’ pile, even though I decided crew necks, and especially t-shirts from the men’s department aren’t flattering - no matter how much I like the pattern. I hauled it out for some home painting projects (3!) and managed to keep it clean, so decided to put it at the bottom of a pile in my shirt and sweater drawer. It peeped out this morning, and said ‘wear me!’ The shorts are RL jeans that weren’t getting any love this year, but have had 12+ wears since they got converted to shorts. Survival of the fittest, but not the best fit!
I’m standing in front of another survivor. The rose came with the house, but was only revealed when DH and DS#2 removed an invasive bush (buckthorn). It had never bloomed. The next year, I made a horrific mistake and sprayed it with a home made weed killer, instead of the intended insecticidal soap. I had to cut it down to 12 inches from the ground and wasn’t sure it would survive. This is year 2 after The Incident, and as you can see - it is a survivor!
Do you have any items that aren’t conventionally flattering, that have turned into workhorses (but not show horses)?
